Forza 2 latest Update and Demo Discussion Thread

I read they are going be included in a release later for DLC, thought it may have been wrong. I think the package is the same as the GoW tin, which seems to be the new way of doing the LE boxes with the wee books cause my S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is the same, not complaining as i quite like them lol

i personally dont like the tins though, prefer the kind i got with supreme commander with an extra dvd case with the spare discs in

infact how are the discs secured in the tins? i hope they arn't just in sleeves or something

Just brought myself a steering wheel  :o , hope it's good, haven't tried it out yet but have been reading up on how amazing it's supposed to be with Forza 2 this morning and could'nt help myself.

Bagged one myself this morning as well, just in time for the Forza demo. Now I need something like a table mate (google it!) as my coffee table is too low and I'd end up like a hunchback after 3 laps of any circuit. After playing GTR2 on a Logitech G25, the bundled PGR3 on the xbox wheel seems a bit crap after that - the wheel itself is quite nice though.

Nah they are secured very well. There is a carboard book like disc holder at the bottom which opens up. It is hard to explain lol

heh funny we all got one today, i happened to nip into a store today while we were about and pick one up.

just been unpackaging and having a look around the unit. most notable thing for me so far is the pedal unit seem totally solid, no slide etc.

like you i need to think about a decent setup for the wheel. our coffee table is low, and it's glass. but have planned to ditch it when we move property (soon) so i'm not too worried. might have to get a temporary fix for the demo.

will test the wheel out later, anyone know if the drivers are available for the pc? seems daft having a momo as well if this thing does the job ok.

Maybe you could use one of those dinner lap trays. Solid on one side and bean bag like on the other to sit on your lap.

The LE cars are out in the autumn if I remember rightly.

The video this week was boring but it looked allright. Whoever advised him that racing with all the right lines made a good demo was talking crap, I much preferred seing the MR2 light up the rear wheel as he careered back onto the road from the dirt.

Speaking of Dirt, it does look pretty good graphics wise but probably just bob and weave physics. a lot of people will prefer that game I reckon

They have my car in there too, same year and the same colour :D

Hey guys thought you may be interested but me and a few mates just setup a new community for Forza Motorsport 2.

We are going to start featuring tuning information, track information and car setups for each track, car gallery for custom car designs and a auction house for member wheeler dealers to buy, sell or trade other cars with fellow community members. Hopefully if it kicks off competitions, regular tourney nights etc.....

If anyone is interested and would like to join head on over to Forzaddict.net. <- Just click the link to the left will redirect you to the site.

Also looking for others to help.

Just posted the Achievements list up on our forums today looks mighty interesting. Can't wait for this game.

Does a logitech G25 work with the 360?

Wouldn't have thought so, that would mean you don't have to go out and buy another wheel from MS! ;)

Tried the MS wheel lastnight and this morning with PGR3. So far, quite impressed.

Joined an online game lastnight, one full lap of Nurburgring. The cars are far easier to control with the wheel, you can correct the car more accurately and issue responses to any loss of grip really quickly. Ended up winning it by some margin. Granted it appeared that at least one of them was intent on just trying to take all the other players off the road (one of the victims spun out and took me off in the process) and I'd have to assume the rest of them are using pads. So, real advantage with the wheel.

As for using this wheel with PGR3 however, I feel as though I'm sat in a restaurant eating a McDonalds cheeseburger with some fine cutlery. I'm trying to play it for what it is but when the loading screens have garbage like 'POWER OVER BRAKING' it makes me want to cry. Hurry up Forza2, I'm going to have to play Project Powerslide-a-thon 3 until you arrive, save me!!

No wheel apart from the official one will work on the 360, at the moment at least.

Not true their are others, Logitec etc, cheaper too but the Official one is the best...

FM2 is fully adjustable in its steering / pedals and FFB settings aparently something PGR3 failed to offer with the patch.

So you really like a Golf GTI but want to be able to race with Ferrari's Porsche's Lambo's, err no problem just add a few upgrades...

Ideally you could buy various versions of "your favourite cars" all with different specs to race across each of the various groups. Thats a feature i like with this game...
Yep this is the nice bit about it, personally i'd like to go down this route purely because i feel more 'attached' to cars such as the Golf.

Logitec just need to bring out a new model perhaps one that is compatible with PC and 360, problem solved.

Mind you i hate the Sidewinder sound of the motors the G25 makes (from videos) that RRRRR RRRRR noise/ Also the gear shift sounds very clicky in H pattern mode.

Still its regarded as the best wheel but at £180 it better be.

Im curious why hasnt anyone tried the "X360 keyboard adapter" that appeared earlier in the year as it also uses a USB connection. Might not work but never seen any reports concerning conecting a wheel to it?

Ooohhhh interesting tipbit from chespace:

"We're currently talking with the G25 team about possibilities and that's all I can comment on. Actually, we had to suspend talks around GDC time due to major crunch mode to get the game out the door, but will resume talks shortly.

Doesn't mean G25 support is coming. But it does mean that we're not interested in SCREWING anyone, dude."

i would buy a G25 in an instant if it worked with the 360

the G25 is compatible with windows, so i don't see why they won't support it on the 360

EDIT: btw the 360 wheel make that RRRR RRRRR noise too, though it's not just as loud as a G25
