Forza 2 latest Update and Demo Discussion Thread

the G25 is compatible with windows, so i don't see why they won't support it on the 360

EDIT: btw the 360 wheel make that RRRR RRRRR noise too, though it's not just as loud as a G25

Very true a driver should be all thats needed.

But with every G25 logitec sell MS wont see a penny of it.
Therefore it imo requires a new licensce deal with a new device, royalities and all those lovely things about marketing and licenscing.

they could easily release it for the 360, cut some deal between them with a "special" 360 version. microshaft would then get a cut. it's not like it would even effect the sale of the wireless wheel, at twice the price only the hardcore fans would buy it.

Ok build quality issue aside.

Is it really going to be much better than the Offical wheel to play X360 games on. FM2 is as sim as were gonna get on the console so for starters the clutch pedal is wasted and really so is the expensive H gearstick.

I dont see how with in FM2 a R25 would benifit people, maybe feel nicer but play much better?

Where would I plug the headset in a G25? it has what 2 buttons on the wheel?

Think I would go with the MS wheel anyway.

i wouldn't say it would play any better but it will definately feel better. the G25 is all metal parts with a leather covered wheel, so it feels more real. i agree totally that the clutch pedal would be useless on the 360 but if they released "that" special 360 version they could do away with the clutch pedal. the shifter that comes with the G25 can be switched between a H shifter or standard sequential shifter. i just think it would offer more realism to a game like forza.

i have no problem with the wireless wheel, i think it is a good wheel and the FF is great. i would just like the choice to buy a high end wheel for my console of choice :(

People want the G25 to be able to work so that they can have one wheel for both the 360 and PC, it would be great if it worked with the PS3 aswell.

If they did release drivers for the G25 to work on the 360, I'd probably buy one. But that could take a while, if it ever happens and I may have bought the MS wheel by then.

yeah that is gonna be a problem if they do get the standard G25 working with the 360.

Thats one of the reasons i would buy a G25, it works with the PC and the PS3 and if it worked with the 360 i'd be very happy.

And if you want to use a 3rd party wheel, then you will need to just stump up and buy the wireless headset.

Not true their are others, Logitec etc, cheaper too but the Official one is the best...

FM2 is fully adjustable in its steering / pedals and FFB settings aparently something PGR3 failed to offer with the patch.

D'oh!

My apologies. I wasn't even thinking about third-party wheels designed for the 360. I was just thinking about the DFP and MOMO etc.

that leguna seca vid you posted Latte is awesome. best vid yet for the feeling of speed and car audio. question though....what IS that aerial type thing that sticks out of the bonnet of that ferrari ?

I was going to say the idea of a golf being in a supercar class is silly but then I remembered this guy.

Golf overtaking a murceliago, 360 and porsche on a track:

And its still got the motor under the bonnet I think :o

That was a good vid of LagunaSeca, good impression of speed and lovely bit of oversteer coming off the corkscrew  :D

Around 1.40 in an NSX, he only managed about 1.57 in the real thing.

Looks like a pipe used to measure air pressure. Some F1 cars have them too, although not that big. It looks quite daft sticking out of that Ferrari.

Yep just found the vid. I think the in game car was a NSX-R and the one he drove himself was just a normal NSX

1:41 NSX-R

Real times
2:01 NSX
1:59
1:57

Fair play for trying, he allready knew he's not close to being a racing driver

So basically that 550 is well rapid, massively so

The in game videos compare well, Forza looks much more involving :)

Yes i would like to try GTHD with the R25 reckon some of the best times are wheel users. Couldnt break past 17th on European rankings myself when i was giving it a bit of a try...

Sitting in a cupboard i have a PC Momo and Sidewinder wheel already with a 360 one (still not arrived) I would expect a X360-PS3 compatible adapter arriving sometime though for MS wheel on PS3 to be possible.

That looks awful*

Still, it'll be a great game.

*The car does, but looks good from the side. It looks as there's some sort of texture blurring from the back...like poor texture filtering.

IGN Preview Update

"We've seen just as many screens and videos of the game in action as you guys, but they didn't prepare us for the way Forza 2 looks when hitting three hundred kilometres an hour through New York's Times Square. The most in-your-face, retina-stretching effect is the game's frame rate. Locked at a super smooth 60fps, it's made the IGN AU editors firm believers in the importance of 60 over 30. We'd always thought 30fps was fine… until we played Forza 2 and were kicked into the back of our chairs by its sensation of speed. Strangely enough, it's also less straining on the eyeballs."
