Forza 2 latest Update and Demo Discussion Thread

You cant have much people on your friends list if you prefer 8 player races :D I play with a regular group of about 12 so its gonna be a shame we cant all play together on this game and will have to split up the group for any tournaments we do.

Would be fantastic if we get a good community going like the LFS one on PC. Used to race with a great bunch, very understanding too when I came in like a noob and used to miss braking points, be slow coming out of corners etc. Just started getting back into it when my PC died :(

If we could re-create that with Forza it would be awesome.

Like what im reading.

I propose that with the release of the demo we decide on a car to race against the clock. Use the four weeks of the demo prior to the full game and select a new car each week. This will give people enough time to compete and post a time or try and improve their times.

As them demo doesnt support upgrades or Live we will have to make a gentlemens agreement on times or of course post up photos proving times set.

It will also be good to judge with the different cars how wheel Vs pad compare so the control method can also be tested as can the different handling of the cars picked...

We should try a RWD FWD and 4WD model from the selection of cars in the demo and then one of the R class cars to be announced that is in the demo.

So what you think?

I intend to play, I shall be be the strongest driver in the field.....the one at the bottom holding all the others up :)

A website would be a good idea if theres any webheads about, login, post time, for car/class etc and post screeny which could verify the time etc etc

I'm up for that :), can't say i'm the best at racing games though, esp with the gf walking across my line of sight all the time :p

clothed or naked, can make all the difference to your racing line :)

We dont really need a website its easy enough to do in a seperate thread.
Done all the time on AV Forums particulary with PGR3 when it wasnt long out.
These forums could do with a bit more active discussion and playing rather than VS debates or the usual thread topics...

I will let my racing do the talking, lol lots of big men dishing out what they maybe cant meet....

Anyways heres the demo cars...

Yep nice idea, although the wheel Vs pad times should be kept seperate from each other, depends how much a advantage the wheel turns out to be i guess.

I agree, both should be submitted seperately.
The benifit is if we have 3 or more people using the wheel submitting times we can help evaluate if everyone with the wheel is slower/faster be good to see if its consistant one way or the other against pad times.

If anything it will help demonstrate to others if the wheel is a good purchase for them or not. We are all still concerned if it makes the game so much harder to the point the times are consistantly slower.

Im concerned about the small amount of travel the triggers on the pad have, might be hard to ease in power.

Yes in the past I have always found that when using a wheel my times and performance can be very erratic, but when I pull it all together they are certainly faster. I would imagine the pad would be quicker until you really get used to it and then the wheel should come into it's own. It will be nice to compare though, not sure what we can do about online races if there is a huge difference.

I've found that a wheel makes for good consistancy actually.

Ah this all sounds great bring on the demo! :D

Although I am concerend my racing style may not fit with Forzas driving model, I do tend to treat my cars like s*** and force them through the corners.
Hence I would like to see one of the more beastly cars used in a round of our demo time trials, something that needs a good battering around the bends. :p

Is everyone happy with the cars submitted.
Personally id prefer the Sagaris to the Porsche too.

Id like to start week one with a slower car "Type R" give us time to accustomise ourselves with the higher powered cars, leaving the R class monster to the last week.

As for assists we can arrange to use some of them if a person feels they need it. Of course having them off bar perhaps ABS braking and in manual should be the fastest, but will it?
