According to the video there will be a bit of damage. I doubt the damage will be like other games like GTA, where the damage is always the same as the damage is premade and upon contact it swaps for example the bonnet, for a broken bonnet. I think this game will be using a dynamic damage system where the original model will be able to deform, so there will be no need for extra polygons for damage.
This is a hunch but I would expect a system like this by todays standards.

I am eagerly awaiting Forza 2 for that reason. I reckon it's gonna be a great game. (I'm optimistic that the final release will have improved graphics)
