Forza 4

Many of you guys use 5.1 or 7.1? Cos aint the audio friggin mental...

Yeah 5.1 with an old Acoustic Energy setup thats sooo old and the display on the amp is dying, but it still works.

She knows me too well, and notices things! :D Also, tbh I like the pad for convenience, don't think the wheel would help me! :p

I must admit I am a bit lucky, or maybe she really knows and i'm the idiot........

On a different note. My pedals + free tuning kit will be here on Friday, YYAAAAAYYY. Only Ive just realise we are out for a ******* meal. Great.

At the risk of repeating myself, check the settings.

Using my Xbox connected optically to a venerable Sony AV Amp with a full 5.0 set of speakers I get the engine noise out of the rear speakers on the in-car views. Centre is almost silent. Front speakers carry ambient noise.

/Fires up FM3.

Nah.. still the front speakers. I'm running a Pioneer A/V reciever but i'm running an old Xbox and it's connected by component which will probably be why.

Have you set it to 5.1 digital out on the dashboard? (xbox system settings)
Your amp set-up correctly, the front center the right volume level compared to the rears?

Which one of these symbols shows up on the receiver display in game?

Just trying to see if it's your xbox or amp

It still doesn't work!

Engine sounds do come from the rear but also from the front as if it was stereo. But it is surround as various other sounds are happening on each speaker.

Ensure you have the settings on X360 to output in Dolby Digital and not stereo.

I find on my equipment that PLIIx decoding (Using PLIIx Music) with Dolby Digital (expands the 5.1 - 7.1) Offers a pleasing surround performance and has better LFE bass usage than say DTS Neo 6 modes. Of course you could just if using 5.1 stick with standard surround decoding.

I only have a temporary setup going at work at present but using 7.1 with 3x Aura Pro tactile units (Left/Right & LFE) and OMG the tactile feedback from the engines/kerbs in this game is wicked. It gels the audio sound with the vibrations of the engine really thowing you into the action and improving the cockpit experience 10x. I would strongly encourage anyone to consider buying an Aura Pro for approx £50-£70 shipped from USA.

If you have an AV reciever that has A/B speaker switching then deffo consider getting a pair to use on L/R.
Once you go tactile their is no going back.
