On the front of your receiver press the "Auto surround" button until it says auto, then there should be a button labelled something like "Alc/standard surr" , you want to press that and cycle through the different surround settings. Find a setting like "Dolby PLII" or "NEO:6" .

Or cycle through a few of those while listening in game. See if it makes a difference.
 
Yeah surround is working properly but the centre speaker is just far too dominant and picks up everything. I've turned it down as much as I can but I can still hear it over the rears which do have engine noise coming from them.

Tempted to just rip it out :p
 
The centre speaker does most of the work. If you rip it out you will miss quite a bit of audio, voices etc. It sounds like you need to balance the speakers out using the level controls..
 
Had a good tinker and it does sound better. I think it's car dependant aswell. I've tried the F430, F360 CS, GT3 and GT2. They all had engine sounds coming from all around but the R1 car i'm in sounds a lot better.

No problems, it could be that you need to play with your delay settings for the rear speakers. It would be best to google it.

I'm hovering over the buy button for this game, but something is stopping me. I'm worried about how similar it is to 3... So tempted :)

Just don't expect too much from sequels these days, especially in a genre like this. I was having doubts when I heard about Porsche not being in, and I wanted more iconic tracks, so I know how you feel. But if you dig a little deeper at what they have added, I think it will be worth it.

I would have payed for this it is was just FM3 but with the updated graphics and audio anyway.

yup.. thats exactly what they do :/ its not like they are going to make me buy some arcade nfs just because it has porshe.. i mean i love porshes but i won't be wasting my money on some arcade poo..

The hate for them on their Youtube vids and on Porsches FB page was quite funny. They upset a lot of people with that decision.

Hopefully when their contract has run out, which is quite soon I think, T10 will add them as DLC.

Hopefully this will ease the pain. Music to my ears:D

 
If I buy a copy of this in the US will it work on my Xbox back in the UK?

If not, what do I miss out on if I buy it after release and dont pre-order?

Is the 2012 M5 a regular car or a pre order only car?
