Forza 4

Speaking of which it looks like Mad Catz is adding Force Feedback to its current wireless wheel for Forza 4. I wonder how much extra that is going to cost.

And public lobbies are back according to the FM4 website, It never bothered me, and I doubt they'll get much use, but for those that wanted them, they have at least listened on this one front!
:)

And
Unified lighting means dramatically improved cars and tracks and alternate time of day lets you experience previous Forza tracks in a completely new way.

Since they've kept the same promo vid as the main video on the site, it clearly shows cars with lights on racing at night.. coupled with obvious lighting change dynamic behaviour that night racing may well be in..

Hey hey well, well meowwwwwwww from Madcatz.

Well it might please some of you pussies (lol, err catz).
Due for Winter/Christmas so after game is released is likey.

This is one of the things i love about the Forza series

The devs appear to be proper car nuts, and it comes across in the amount of work they put into making the game.

By just adding a few new cars and tracks? Sorry but like it s been said before, F4 from what we know now is just F3 with a lick of paint

Not being able to use my g27 is the game breaker for me. I wonder how many don't buy the 360 because of its lack of support on 3rd party wheels.

We got a shedload ton of stuff yesterday

- Heavy Top Gear influence, autocross, car soccer, voice overs (And more to be announced)
- 16 cars online, at least 12 cars offline
- Massive 'lick of paint'
- Community Rivals - can challenge anyone, anytime to beat your time for credits
- Community clubs - can share cars/paints/tunes
- Autovista Mode to explore key cars, with special challenges for each one
- Alternate time of day for tracks, and more to be announced (maybe night/weather, we don't know)
- Brand new physics using raw data gathered by Pirelli
- New assists (Steering assist can be turned off)
- Public lobbies are back!
- Head tracking in all modes
- New world tour mode
- More smoke/effects
- More localised damage system
- Big improvement in photomode
- More tracks
- More cars

And there is more to come..

If that is what you class as just a few new cars and tracks and a lick of paint, you must be some princess diva..

Look I can see why and where your coming from as I found the jump from 2-3 to be limited in real new stuff or exciting elements.

4 seems to be the biggest jump from a previous title. Maybe even moreso than even FM1 - FM2 and a console generation between those.

Their are loads of gameplay and technical improvements this time around including new physics, tyre models and the removal of the car aids and more ways to enjoy cars not forgetting the TG content.

removal of car aids? u can do that already in F2 nevermind f4.

Ok so does Tyres degrade in time? Have they implemented hot and cold temp tyres? Animated pit crew?

We got a shedload ton of stuff yesterday

- Heavy Top Gear influence, autocross, car soccer, voice overs (And more to be announced) not interested in arcade racing modes u expect from need for speed games, car soccer? come on
- 16 cars online, at least 12 cars offline Good
- Massive 'lick of paint'
- Community Rivals - can challenge anyone, anytime to beat your time for credits Sounds like Time trial done with a few mates
- Community clubs - can share cars/paints/tunes Can already do that in F3!
- Autovista Mode to explore key cars, with special challenges for each one Pointless mode IMO, i want a racing game??
- Alternate time of day for tracks, and more to be announced (maybe night/weather, we don't know) Good
- Brand new physics using raw data gathered by Pirelli Might be good
- New assists (Steering assist can be turned off) facepalm
- Public lobbies are back! So? It was in F1 and F2, nothing ground breaking
- Head tracking in all modes only with kinect right? good feature
- New world tour mode might be good, sounds like just F3 singleplayer mode renamed, need more info on exactly whats new here?
- More smoke/effects

- More localised damage system might be good, need more info
- Big improvement in photomode And how does this enchance the gameplay/racing experience? people say GT5's photomode was pointless, so is this one so meh, not interested
- More tracks Lick of paint as i said before
- More cars Lick of paint as i said before

And there is more to come..

response in bold.

Most are bloody features that has nothing do with you know, "racing/gameplay" And some sound like renamed game modes. need more info on career mode. And photomode? do people honestly care more about photomode then actually doing a race?

Where is Tyre wear? qualification rounds? animated pit crew? blue, yellow flags? proper race series career mode where u take control of ONE car and improve its parts over a season like a typical super gt/f1 racing series?

Not to mention weather effects? day and night cycles? The ability to create a actual race league/series for online or offline play with your mates like how u can create leagues for offline and online in fifa games?

Of course a hands on test is needed but Dan made one point that before in FM games a cars handling was defined by the general physics for that car. Now the tyres will play a bigger part to a cars handling and not just based on a cars general physic charactistics but on "how you as the player drive" as well.

So yes Id expect better tyre usage and tyre wear and a difference between various rubber or old/new tyres. Also loss of grip when going off should be possible within their new "tyre physics model".

As a whole their saying the handling is improved because of major changes not a slight evolution of the previous methods. Im dubious of "Developer Promises" as much as anyone. I read that one of the dev videos on the "electricpig behind the scenes" stated that the steering aid in FM3 that always seemed to be on is now no longer the case. Well someone stated that on a different forum but the whole tyre modelling now is improved.

FM4 doesnt seem to be in "Dans Vision" as an all out racing title that focuses on mimicing real motorsports. I want more elements of this too but they seem more interested in doing things that appeal to wider audiences than hardcore PC sim fans wanting that level of simulation experience in Forza.

For me 16 players, high end visuals and Top Gear content will make this the best selling FM title to date. Adding Kinect and multiscreens with a new highend wheel experience certainly stirs my cuppa..

Its also likely to be the best FM title they have made.

And thats why this game will fall flat again. they will add pointless soccer car modes instead of proper qualification rounds instead.

The thing is, most of the stuff i mentioned above your posts ARE OPTIONAL and CAN be turned off easily.

they can add those features to make the hardcore AND casual fans happy. why cant they cater for both?

idiots.

Well maybe its better to wait till things are confrimed and playtests come back before assuming anything, good or bad I guess.

At least the Top Gear track will get more proper usage and the silly games the show does.
Hey it might even be more fun than VW races :)

Surely they are catering for both to some extents? Simulation physics (all forza series), full damage model, 100s of cars, authentic tracks, full "gearhead" customization, full steup options and more for the hardcore sim fans. Then top gear, paint jobs, fantasy tracks, aids and arcade races for more the casual market.

I see where you are coming that why can't they add to the hardcore? well they are but it isn't an 80/20 ratio from hardcore to casual and as the Forza series already offers so much to the hardcore gamer they are obviously going to add more for the casual in each iteration.

Ahh, I see you are just talking about core racing stuff, that explains why you are so dismissive of the info so far..

Lets just wait and see, although you seem to be asking for a weird mix of stuff that I can't see them doing all of that..

I'd like better tyre wear, better fuel simulation, more features in a pit-stop (Don't care about fluff like animated pitstops), and of course as a participant in organised races, I'd like more race organisation with qualifying more explicitly handled etc..

Mind you it sounds to me like you want to go an get iRacing, that's proper hardcore racing rules/regs etc..

And just FYI, tyre wear is already modelled, as is tyre temperature.. when we qualify in the race series I'm in, warming your tyres on the outlap is essential, and a 3 lap qually isn't sometimes quite enough to get up to temperature, not to mention tyres overheating due to poor setup etc and being ruined in 10 laps. It's not perfect, but it sounds like you don't know what the game already does..

And thats why this game will fall flat again. they will add pointless soccer car modes instead of proper qualification rounds instead.

"idiots"? man, you are really bent out of shape,

Clearly FM isn't for you.. we don't even know what core improvements, other then better physics have been made yet, but already you've jumped to conclusions and seem to be on some rant..

I hope they add some FPS sections, like you can shoot Nazi's or Aliens, maybe even you can climb the pit buildings like in Tomb Raider, it's really not on that T10 keep adding cars and tracks to a racing game, they really need to do better :D
