Forza 4

The Fanatecs are the best wheels but I've heard a lot of people having all sorts of issues with them plus support being very poor . . . not worth the hassle and expense over a G27 imo.

It is a total trade-off isn't it, the wheel is better then the G27 in just about every way, the on-wheel adjustability (100% killer feature for me), the cross platform, the belt drive.. But you have slow support and you have to accept the small company pace of things, and as you say, some niggly issues can arise..

Why can't logitech look at fanatec and ape them? Just adding their own support and engineering experience, they could surely come up with a winning wheel!

A guy on another forum said he's on his fourth replacement wheel from Fanatec, takes weeks to sort out via email and having to pay for return shipping to Germany each time. When it works it's the dogs nads but a fault could always be around the next corner.

The G27 is solid on the whole and Logitech's support is brilliant but yeah I't would be great if they bought out a better one.

had a microsoft wireless racing wheel for about 18 months, very heavy fm3 use and still works like new. has'nt developed any more play in the wheel either but if it broke i'd be hunting another one of these.

Believe me, my Fanatec wheel has been back as much.. and I've suffered the pain..

But I still wouldn't swap my Fanatec for a G27..

I would tell anyone considering a Fanatec about the slow/hoop jumping support, so they are going in eyes-open.. It's pretty bad to experience slow support, but as long as they do pull through, it doesn't quite hurt so bad after the fact!

It depends on the person, if you play a lot of games on a range of consoles/PC, the Fanatec is a stand out product, it's the only 1 to work on them all, and also the only wheel to allow tailoring of all the settings on the wheel, I can't say how much that works for me, making some games that are impossible or painful to control with a 'fixed' 900 degree wheel, very enjoyable as I can make them feel consistent no matter what..

Is it worth waiting for a Forza bundle? Or would people recommend buying the console/game separately?

Knowing how the bundles usually pan out for these games, I'd just buy seperately, you'll probably save some money, and I'd get the LCE version (which no doubt wouldn't be bundled!)..

If they did some awesome FM logo'd thing with a speed wheel thrown in, maybe I'd consider it, but that chances would be slim..

Had a mess around on Forza 3 last night, all I can say is I hope they get rid of the floaty driving model in Forza 4.

No tracks are perfect yet all of them in Forza 3 are perfectly smooth, most of the time you feel like the cars are actually hovering, dreadful dreadful game.

ive been playing on it recently just to finish the career off, and after playing on gt5 i find the tracks to be the worst part of forza 3. they look so bland/basic but to be fair it is a old game. physics are easier than gt5's too but i prefer braking on forza to gt5, seems more real especially with the nixim mod on my g25 pedals. i love the ffb also, im enjoying it and am looking forward to f4.

Like I said, if you have played FM3 a lot you will be gifted few of the cars from your FM3 garage into FM4. No specific details have been released but that's what T10 said at e3.

*fingers crossed I get the cars I really like from my garage, not crap ones*

Give me my Diablo SV and Shelby Series 1!

Got my copy pre ordered and am practising on Forza3 to get back into the the mindset, should probably reactivate my live account to play online again!

I managed to nuke all my saves... Including my Forza 3 one. I'm vainly crossing my fingers that I'll get some bonus on the basis of having all the achievements, rather than it having to find a save...

Anyone found anywhere decent to pre-order this? Best I've seen is about £38.
