Forza 6 announced

Hi guys. After selling my 360 a year ago or so I have been without a console, having a little baby boy doesn't help either. Now he is coming up to year old I thought I would treat myself to the Xbox One.

I got this game, Forza 6 as I loved forza 4 iirc on the 360 and after failing at the 3 qualifying races on the demo, took ages to complete them, I still found it hard on the full game too. I can't put my finger on why. I have managed to further my career since getting the game but there is something about it. I used most assists off on F4 and only had Braking line (until I learnt the track) and ABS/TCS on, everything else was off. I was fairly good at it not world beating but could race well. Same with tuning and decal design.

Now, I am getting used to the controls, might be the steering stick being too sensitive I don't know but I am getting there. I do agree with the drivertars being what they are and hope this patch will sort it out.

Sorry about a rather messy post but the game looks great, can't fault it. Sounds awesome too. There is something off about it, not including drivertars. I can't pinpoint what it is.

It could be the menu layouts, the annoying announcer, I don't know.

Anyway. Off to see if the patch has finished and try it again.

Ps... where the **** are the Mugello race tracks.. I used the club circuit to test Tunes on all my cars.. Perfect track for it tbh..

Got myself a XB1 a few days back with Fifa 16 & Forza 6 the only 2 games I wanted which worked out well with the deal I got.
I played F6 for an hour or so & wasn't impressed at all & told my mate it was soft/sterile/lacked feeling, It's hard to explain in words what I meant. I went off & got into my Fifa building my Team/FUT & forgot about it for a couple of days. I went back to it last night & finally found my 10th Anniversary pack which meant I had some decent cars to try. Race after race trying the better cars I liked it more & more, Now it feels aggressive & punchy just how I like it.
I obviously haven't played it long enough to give an overall review but I can say the game has now Grabbed me.

Having read around it does seem I escaped the worst of the prepatched issues.

The last Forza I had was FM4 and I feel FM6 has moved the game nicely in terms of graphics. The cars sound fantastic and the game play is how I like it, not too SIM like and allows for nice progressive drifts.

Agreed Droolinggimp - Where the **** is Mugello!

When is the December car pack ready for DL? Can't find it anywhere.

Ha.. I am back. After posting my post a few up I booted up the game and tried a simple little thing. I altered the deadzones for the steering. Inside min and outside max. Now the game feels so much better and I actually enjoyed racing the drivertars. I cranked the Dtars skill up a few notches and found I was still winning by a good 8 seconds. Going to up it more later.

After spending about 20 mins going through the menus and seeing what they are and what is in them I have now got the feeling back that I had in F4.

Good game so far.

Is there such a thing as an OcUK racing club or anything like that? Do you guys have meetings/races during the week at all? Club colours logos etc to stick on our cars, that sort of thing. I know I set one up for FM4 years ago but that didn't take off as expected back then.

If the lead car shooting off into the distance has actually been fixed this will be a great change for me, was annoying having to have the difficulty down a fair bit to even stand a chance of winning.

It must have. I was playing this morning and a Renault Turbo that was in 1st just took off and was about half lap in front of me at the finish. Since playing after the patch and sorting out my 'can't quite put my finger on why I am not gelling with this game' issues they have been far closer to the pack and subsequently I have been winning too.

Great game.

I still can't believe we're on the 6th version and still don't have day-night transitions or variable weather. Oh well, maybe next year in FM7. Still enjoying the game though, especially with my (now working) TM TX wheel.

Nothing decent for under that price. I'd recommend the Logitech G920 as a starting point, could be had recently from a big retailer for £180.

Above that you are into the realms of the Thrustmaster TX, which is a good wheel with awful standard pedals then into the silly money Fanatec options (which I now use, primarily for iRacing).

I looked at getting the Logitech G920 but it has the same internals as the G25/27 and doesn't come with the gear stick so I found it hard to part with the cash knowing that it was pretty much the same as a G25/27 for twice the price.

I ended up getting a Thrustmaster TX. Currently on my 2nd one... If you go down the TM route, make sure you keep on top of Firmware updates. My first one died within about 20hrs use as I couldn't update the firmware (no PC). TM sent out a replacement and I got my hands on a PC to update the firmware, not had a problem at all. The FFB is great, better than my old Logitech wheels.

The only downside is the pedals. Like MagicBoy said, they're awful, worse than awful. I've modified the brake pedal so that it only moves to 50% (prevents locking in Forza) and has rubber blocks to give it some resistance so I can press harder if I need to to get that bit extra.

There are some non-FFB Thrustmaster wheels that are alright for around £90 (I think).

Played it for the first time since the update. The Drivatar issue seems to have been fixed by making the AI make more mistakes. I was 5th on the last lap and as soon as I got onto the back of the cars in front they all just drove off the track. Anyone else noticed that?

The G920 at list (as with most things Logitech) was overpriced. At £180 it's sensible money. I picked up a used G27 off the MM here a couple of years ago and it's never given me a jot of trouble and it's had a lot of use.

I can't see the point in a non-FFB wheel for £90. Might as well drive with a blindfold on!

Yeah, can't go wrong with it at £180. I had a G25 and it had a hell of a lot of use for about 5 years without a single problem. Definitely very solid wheels. It just annoys me that Logitech are charging a fortune (at list they wanted $400 over here :| ) for what is essentially 'old tech'.

The pedals on the G920 (if they're the same as G25/G27) are a million miles better than the TM TX pedals.

Same base design, a couple of minor tweaks. Spring rates are slightly different, and they've made their own version of the NIXIM brake mod for a more realistic feeling brake pedal.

I spent almost 3 hours doing the Sebring 300 mile challenge and for the 7 spins I received $3.65m or $4m if you count the $350,000 Ferrari I got as well. I had a choice of 2 Audis or a Peugeot. Seeing as the prize money for winning was $260,000 I didn't want to waste those credits on an Audi as I'd already reached level 25 so I went for the Peugeot instead. Went from level 2 to 18. :D

I must say that doing 300 miles/82 laps of Sebring in the wet is very, very tedious! :p

I quite enjoyed the Sebring one tbf. I turned all the HUD off aswell except for laps which i had as conditional, just so i knew when i was having to pit. Still forgot twice and needed a push to the pits :p

Would have enjoyed it a lot more if it had been the dry track and the slower class cars didn't keep getting in my way. I didn't set any clean hotlaps after about lap 15. :(

Porsche expansion leaked on Amazon. Set to include 20 Porsche models, a new track, 250 gamescore etc.

I know it looks like I wrote that myself but I assure you I didn't lol.

Did it have a date for the expansion?

I'd be interested to see which cars are in the pack, the Forza 4 expansion had 30 cars but about 10 were different Porsche Cup liveries.
