Forza Horizon 5 - Mexico

Like with 3 and 4 (I may be getting old), I am still confused how to progress in the campaign. I typically do new individual races across the different categories, and this seems to unlock more chapters in Horizon Adventure but my campaign progress looks like I've just started the game.
Tbf id just stop treating it as having a campaign, just do stuff and have fun, horizon 3,4 and 5 just kinda carry on

Apologies if this has already been asked, but want to buy this game of CDKEYS but I'm not sure which version I need to select.

The options are :

- XBOX ONE (UK)
- XBOX SERIES X|S (EU)
- XBOX SERIES X|S (US)
- XBOX SERIES X|S (WW)

I'm in the UK and I want to buy it for my Windows 10 gaming PC. I don't have an Xbox.

Which one do I need to select please folks ? Ta

I don't think there is a specific PC version.

I bought mine from ShopTo, and the digital key (AFAIK) will work on any of them, Win 10/11 included.

For example, the version I bought is advertised as an Xbox download, but the picture onscreen has Windows 10 in it as well as the Xbox series.

This game is excellent and it boooms along loving it so far framerate is excellent at 4k.

I find racing games a bit bland, but even I love Forza Horizon 5. There is a ton of content in this game, gameplay is really fun and the graphics are top notch at 4K.

We recently bought a steering wheel for a friend and a Forza 5 for his birthday. Basically we got what we wanted, a new map. The difference between pad and steering wheel controls is huge. At least the steering wheel was harder for me - but the fun is much better. Cars slide a bit at ridiculously low speeds.

Anyone know how you can view and go after your friends laptimes etc?
I know you can go to rivals on a random race and hope your freind has done that race so you can compete but it seems a bit annoying having to do that?

Im not sure if its just me, but this does seem to be "more of the same"

I spent 20-30 hrs on Forza 4 / Horizons but struggling to really get in to 5 (im lucky enough to be able to play on Extreme settings) and with an xbox pass effectively got it for free, but for some reason its just not working for me. I Really want to like it, was hoping this would keep me entertained until March when GT7 finally arrives (although not looking forward to forking out best part of £70 for a single game) but just not enjoying F5 as much as I hoped

It's frustrating overloaded with rewards, so much so it makes trying to get the really rare cars mostly pointless since you're pretty much garanteed to get them in a wheelspin or as a reward for something trivial anyway. I understand Turn 10's logic in want the game to be completely accessible from the get go, but it feels like they've turned everything up to 11 and just destroyed any sence of progression completely. online leaderboards are pointless since they are all spoofed anyway. Way too many expensive cars are given away too early in the game to make you want to try and get others. The weekly events all seem pointless since the rewards so far have all been cars i've already got or outfits that arent worth putting in 10 hours or more to achieve. FH4 was never as bad as this. You even level up quicker as well, i had 680 cars in FH4 and was prestige 1 rank 107 after 8 months or so of playing the game. I'm almost already at that same level in Fh5 after playing for a few weeks with 'only' 250-ish cars collected. They've somehow made prestige feel even less important.

...And then there's the AI drivers. They are sometimes awful. Sometimes you'll be up against an AI driver that will destroy you off the line no matter what you drive. Sometimes you'll enter a series and get 1 or even 2 drivers who will finish a race 3 or 4 seconds in front of everybody else in a car you know they shouldnt be winning in, let alone destroying a field of drivers including yourself. Quit and restart the same series and suddenly the field is balanced again. Nonsense.

I like FH5, dont get me wrong. The physics are great. But the rest is a let down IMO. I cant see myself putting anywhere near as much time in to FH5 as i did FH4.

I’m enjoying it. The weekly playlist keeps things turning over and the driving physics model is really fun. I do feel like some slower pacing with the rewards would help longevity though. I got the Koenigsegg One this week and all the high speed speed traps suddenly became trivial.

One notable thing is the drift zones have gone from near impossible to overly easy. I never got near them in 4 but have three starred all of them in 5 with no trouble.

I've practically been running the trial on repeat this week, my MX5 seems to be set up perfectly for it and I can quite easily win at least 2/3 of the races with a comfortable gap (so long as I avoid the carnage of the rammers). These slower paced, lower class races bring out the best of the game as you can really feel the difference in how people have set up their cars,.

I enjoy trying to help carry the team through, especially those that are trying to race as clean as they can. The amount of people that seem to be awful at the game is quite funny though, if there was actual skill involved in order to level up and gain money/drive cars then the quality of racing would be far better.

CAn anyone reccomend a car for this current challenge?:

Danger Sign: Boardwalk
  • Car: A Class, Super Saloons
  • Location: Boardwalk, Riviera Maya
  • Challenge: 76m
  • Reward: 2 points, Wheelspin
Currently trying with a BMW M4 but keep falling short by about 3 meters!

You may just need to decrease the final drive for the gearbox in tuning to get a bit more top speed (it gives you an indication on the left for top speed when tuning).

Also remember you can use rewind to go back if you fail, saves driving back and forth. You need to give time for the last attempt to clear though before hitting again.

I used an M5 of some description and just scraped through.

ahh yes, i've not really dabbled with proper tuning, as in gear ratios and suspension etc,.

But good call on the gearbox ratios - i'll give that a go, thank you.

Got it first go with an M5. Get your speed up way before you get to the jump so the water doesn't slow you too much.
