I found an Iphone a just over 2 weeks ago. After borrowing a charger I scrolled though the contact list and rang mum then the dad number. After a few attempts I got though to dad who thinks it might be his son who lost a phone. The dad rings me back later that day and confirms his son lost a phone and he gives me the description of the phone I am holding. Anyway he agrees to email me an address to mail the phone to and offers to refund me any P&P costs. That’s the last I heard a week later no email, no response from ringing either the dad or mum phone numbers. 2 weeks later no response still, even left messages on voicemail.

So what next, what would you do?

Hold on to it until you hear something.

If you dont hear anything in a few weeks, at least you made an effort :p

He might have your email address down incorrect?

Try ringing some of the more frequently dialled numbers in the call log?

sounds like a lost iphone insurance claim gone wrong on their part :p

he probably purposely "lost it" to get the insurance money for the new one coming out. ;)

See if you can make a call with it still, if not its highl likely its been barred and he is in the process of recieving a new one anyway, or an upgrade. If they don't reply or email you after that or any time soon. Jailbreak it and use it as an Ipod touch. Sorted.

Possible, but if not an upgrade or the guy doesn't have insurance on it, chances are he's down a couple hundred quid by losing the phone, and then needs to buy another one.

If it does get barred, and is subsequently returned to the guy, I believe he can have it unbarred by the network.

Just keep calling them, my parents are crap at using their phones, and no-one likes using voicemail :p

Its not really his duty to do that, if they wanted to get in touch and wanted it back (as most people would), surely they would have called the phone?

I'd say you've done your part, wait and see if they reply to you for a bit longer, if they don't, and you still want to try and return it, leave a couple more messages/send a text to the parents, if still no responce, I'd assume they're not interested.

A phone of that cost is not something you lose and just forget to collect, if they wanted it, they'd most certainly be hassling you to get it returned.

He's done his part, hes even left voicemails, I say sit on it and wait for them to return your call.

TBH if my iphone went missing, i would be in more of a hurry to get it back than these people, think of the poor iphones feelings, feeling unwanted, un-loved, atleast with you he will feel better :)

Does seem quite strange that it's been missing for about two weeks and nobody has called you back or provided return instructions.

Throw it out of the nearest window, it must be a police sting operation.

your assuming that he and his dad have a good relationship and that they can actually contact the son who has no phone

they might even of just sent the email to the wrong adresss
