Fairbanks-Sykes fighthing knife. Standard comando issue from WWII. Nice find.
Nothing at all except the handle markings; looks like the blade and guard have been blacked at sometime but apart from that nothing.
Opposite of me; do not want; this will be going into my safe and then gone asap, children are far too curious for me to keep this.
When I was young, my parents rented a house in The Malvern hills. The garden was a wilderness, about an acre, head height in brambles and ferns. We found a ghurka kukri wrapped in canvas and oilskin in the garden. I was not allowed to keep it for reasons outlined above.
Good grief how do your kids survive? I didn't stab anyone with the kitchen knives as a kid.
Nice find
Reminds me of something I found years ago when I was out fishing. Obviously a bayonet of sorts and pretty worthless by the state it's in but does anyone know what type or when it's from etc?
Sorry for pinching your thread Hitman

As someone just starting to collect militaria: DO WANT.
Oh, and it's a Fairbairn Sykes knife, I think. Made by J Nowill & Sons (as shown by the crossed keys and 'D' with star above).
Does it have any more markings on it? On the guard, perhaps?
I always wanted to find a 1911 every time I moved - no such luck yet.
