blueporcupine said:Lord James is, by his own account in the speech, an international auditor, fraud detector and BoE-approved rearranger of grubby money. Assuming he hasn't also happened to go bonkers more recently than all that, it seems unlikely he'd be taken in by a known scam like OITC, and for that matter unlikely that they'd attempt to swindle him.
And as it happens (read into this what you will) he must already know about OITC, because he was apparently another bidder on MG Rover which so far as I know is how OITC first came to light in the UK.
Presumably the whole point of his putting the matter on public record is that this one has stumped him and he doesn't know what to do about it.
(Or, yes, he's gone bonkers, but that would be incidental.)
I genuinely cant believe this hasnt been picked up by the BBC or Sky! Maybe all the crazy people were right...
Let me guess its from King Mugabazi from Nigeria? He will help pay the debt but first we must pay him $2000 so he can release the funds.
The OITC proposed to invest US$150 million in a hydro-electric project in the region, subject to Ullauri placing $20,000 in a bank account in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as a deposit
. She paid in the money as requested in December 2005 but several months later there was no sign of the promised millions from the OITC.[14] In mid-April 2006 Ullauri publicly denounced the OITC as a fraud and lodged a complaint against its principal, Ray Cchat Dam, and two Ecuadorians said to be its local agents.[15]
First NASA releases videos of potential UFOs and now a mysterious Foundation X says it can inject a huge cash sum into the UK. This can only mean one thing...Aliens are working with the UK to restore the British Empire! /conspiracy.
And watch us muck it up again!
The United States backed this proposal by putting pressure on the British government by selling Pounds, which would cause it to depreciate. Britain then agreed to withdraw its troops
Wonder if the BBC strike will get called off, so they can report on the most interesting and revelatory news story this decade ?
