Whats ideal FOV?

Does it depend on your screen size and how close you are

whats adv/disadvantages to high/low fov

Especially for online gaming such as BF3

i think 90 is normal

higher gives a fish eye kinda view....its good for indoors close combat as you get to see a wider view

outdoors it would make it look as if things were much further away

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Battlefield 3's FoV is 70, and can't be changed.

I personally like 90.

Yeah, 90 is average in games. Anything below much below 90 and I get motion sickness personally. It's horrible when a FPS gets released and you can't change the FOV, pretty much ruins it for me.

110.

Default at 90 i allways felt like i was triping over my own feet:)

Also made things a little but more manic, sped up q2 gameplay to qw levels/

Well, apparently the current Beta for BF:3 uses an FOV of 70-75, so going by that, i would say 80-85 is ideal for myself, similar to what i used in BF:BC2 and Crysis 2.

90 as that's normally the max for most games.

For any fast paced FPS, I use 110-120. I remember for ET I had a button to toggle between a low FOV and high FOV so it was like a fake zoom :)
