FOV and gaming?

I have never understood why this matters so much to some people... was happily playing DeusEx when i read the thread saying that 70 was the sux so changed it up to 90... "hmm my hand is now a bit thinner"... carried on playing the rest of the game without really noticing any difference whatsoever
