Fox attacks....

Why do you believe this?
Because you'll never get everyone to 100% lock away 100% of their waste. Foxes will still smell it and investigate, surely. Not to mention they probably live in people's gardens etc. anyway.

I don't see a problem with an urban fox cull in London, they've no place in the city and they're just a nuisance.

I went for a run very early one morning at about 5am and it was amazing how many foxes I saw, at least 10 on a 30 minute run. Cheeky *******

Does this mean we will kill all humans because a few hundred of them are Murderers ?

I was thinking this earlier. Should we kill all dogs because they attack people too?

I think it's a conspiracry theory to gain support for Fox hunting again.

Same can be said of many people living in London .... oh wait I have a variation on the culling solution :D
I agree with that too! But seriously, why can't we get rid of them? They've no place in the cities. They're not endangered are they?

Is this being linked by pro-hunt people to the fox hunting ban? It would not surprise me, if so.

I wouldn't be surprised. The thought did cross my mind.

Let's paint foxes as evil man-eaters, like we've already (falsely) done to wolves.

Am I the only person who thinks that there's something wrong with this story? First, foxes very rarely enter houses. Second, even urban foxes are very timid, so having to beat one to make it let go seems unlikely - it would leg it as soon as it heard a person. Lastly - seriously, the door was open in this weather? Were they trying to kill the baby with hypothermia?

Two much more likely scenarios:

1) It was a rat, not a fox. They do come indoors, they do attack people, and they do hang on when struck. And some can be very big. The parents were just mistaken. Or...
2) It was a family dog, but they feared that the animal would be put down if this came out, so the parents made up this story.

fox is going to be a fox.

not the foxs fault we are urbanising every bit of land we can find and ruining their natural habitats

urban foxes are very timid

I can categorically say from living in London that this is not true.

We've had foxes come up to open doors before. My last workplace was a warehouse with offices and flats inside that foxes would routinely enter. One even gave birth to her cubs in roof cavity above the toilet.

So sir, you are greatly mistaken on most accounts of fox behaviour.

Some things like this happen, that foxes attack children, because they are opportunists. It really is the natural way of life IMO. Somebody will be injured or killed by animals, just which animal and at what age.

Just because of a few bold foxes that attacked some small children (Mostly in enclosed cots, so it'd be fairly hard to get at them) hardly vouches for people to go up in arms against them. It's like a baby falling ill, It is sometimes unavoidable.

Are you sure you just weren't being followed by the same one? They're sinister you know, I read it in the paper so it must be true!

Don't they say that the only reason foxes and what have you come into the city is because there isn't enough food for them in the wild, especially at this time of year?

I like foxes and enjoy watching them but I do understand that they can cause havoc at times, especially to farmers, but that's no reason in my opinion to kill one, just be aware that foxes are about and better protect yourself and your property.
