Doesn't look to bad to me, but of course its hard to tell from just a side profile.

There are 4 pictures there, all angles.

Not sure what to make of it :/

I quite like it actually - its far better proportioned than the hatchback and looks better than a 3 Series.

Only thing is I can't see where the sales are going to come from other than people who don't want back doors buying it in place of a 3.

I think there after the golf and jetta

Its a 3 series with a foot taken out the middle.

Its true, bmw only really build 1 car in 3 different sizes. Perhaps they should try harder. Anything other than 3, 5 7 series and maybe the Z4 have been abortions.

What's the point in not everyone driving the same cars, you mean?

I don't know...
What is the point in it, where exactly does it fit into the BMW range? If you want a decent 4 seat coupé, get the 3 series. If you want a 2 seat coupé, get the Z4.
Is this just another technically pointless car built for no other reason than to occupy a price bracket?

Sadly, i think you're bang on the money with the above sentiment.
the price gap between it and the 3 series will tell if it's a good potential buy IMHO.
