I am reading about 27" 1080 gsyc and 27" 1440p gsyc. I am interested in BF4 and COD.

What kit do you rate for FPS?

I have been reading about Ravic etc they all play 1080 and turn the settings to LOW and the mesh setting HIGH - what is that all about?

With different mouse settings for infantry, vehicle and air!

pod:)

S2716DG 27" 144Hz G-Sync and GTX1070 here - BF4 being one of the games I play.

The settings will be for 2 purposes - sustaining a high level of performance and which settings give the cleanest view which might not necessarily be all low settings - some of the settings in BF4 are a bit mixed due to a number of issues like the actual collision mesh not matching up visually and/or there used to be problems with spotting with some settings, etc.

if my pc is struggling with a game I will lower settings until I get it smooth as possible, 60 fps is always the target but not attainable in some cases then I just try and get it balanced between being not too ugly to look at while still being pretty smooth.

Usually lower AA and Shadows first.

So how come the Pro's do the opposite - there must be a gain to be had for low settings and higher frames per seconds.

By the way I meant First Person Shooter aficionado's.

Rroff you are using a Dell S2716DG 27" 144Hz G-Sync

Ahh interesting whats 1440p compared to 1080p, do you recommend it?

id go 1440p for general stuff, smaller pixels, but l33t pro dudes might like big pixels.

higher fps means it runs/flows better, in iracing it made it easier to control the cars

Who gives a single flying toss what a bunch of shouty and sweary autistic children do? I play games to enjoy them.

The irony is not lost on me.

Yeah. I guess bigger pixels helps.

Surprised no one has mentioned mouse mats and mice and settings.

I was referring to aficionados, folk with unusual enthusiasm for first person shooters. Any thoughts on that, cheerful thoughts please as we approach bedtime......:D

I'm a big fan of Zowie FK mouse wise - very stable, predictable and responsive sensor combined with the right type of slightly textured fabric mouse mat its very good.

EDIT: Not forgetting the Camade for zero lead drag - guaranteed to double your KDR.

Talking keyboards I do a lot of typing, I purchased a Das Keyboard, a clicky one. It is great. It was a bit of a luxury but I would not go back. It is wired.

I like wired mice too I have an ancient wired Razer Lachesis. I have replaced the pads once or twice. Plus a Razer mouse mat.

I am planning to get back into BF4 and the new COD in November/December when I have more time.

I am trying to choose between 1080 and 1440. Hence the post.
