was quite happy with 1800dpi, but then tried 3500, cant decide now, dunno if it will just take me a little time or if i should switch back to 1800, mainly play bf3 and use a death adder..

any advise pro gamers?

Not a pro gamer by any means mate, but i prefer dpi down at 2000. Using a g500 mouse. Sensitivity set low in game as well, (bf3).

EDIT, my settings i posted on the cq247 forums jimlad.

Installed setpoint yesterday, using 3 levels of dpi. 400, 800 and 1900, pointer speed at 6, polling rate at 1000. Mouse acceleration of in setpoint and disabled in windows ctrl panel. Ive knocked the mouse sensitivity way down in bf3 as well, taking a bit of getting used to but it certainly feels better.

Just play what you're comfortable with. It's all personal preference at the end of the day and the surface your mouse is on is a factor too.

Deathadder 3.5 on a qpad CT mousemat

Windows sense - 3
Synapse sense - 1800 dpi and 1000hz

Battlefield I use raw input off and using realmware settings...

Soldier sense - 6.5%
Vehicle sense - 125%

3500 dpi is way to fast but I've always been a low sense gamer!

2000 dpi for me just feels right, with a cyborg rat 9 but I also used 2000 dpi with a sidewinder x8.

must be my sweet spot.

I remember the 3500 dpi version deathadder (so 3.5g and after) had higher perfect control speed at the 1800 dpi setting but I don't know if that's true anymore

1800 dpi for me on deathadder 3.5 feels perfect! soooooo smooth deathadder glidz feet and qpad ct! doesnt even feel like ur holding a mouse....

yeah i tried 3500 last night with my death adder, and was losing kills, even after tweaking, just was not cricket

crazy dpi, i play on 800dpi with my mx518. Its all preference though isnt it so just use what u get comfartable with, you weillg et used to it like anything.

Why do mice even have these ridiculously high DPI settings if no one uses them? I recently upped my DPI and lowered sensitivity on my G500 to see if I got a better feel from it. I'm unsure at this point if I prefer it or not.

mouse acceleration isn't such a bad thing if you know exactly what you're doing with it and how to configure it. i think from the last quake live tournament 7 out of the top 8 finishers use accel of some sort.

I recently changed from 3500 to 1800 (and adjusted my sens accordingly) after someone here mentioned that the deathadder tracked better at 1800, and I think it has made it smoother :)

Regarding acceleration, yeah lots of top Quake Live players use it (just gonna start playing around with it myself), but then that's much faster paced than other FPS (I've never heard of it used in CS for example, but then I've never been into CS).

Lower your ingame sense and increase your dpi, also yuo use mouse acceleration? ew.

Exactly.

People who don't know how to set it up properly don't know how to use it ;)
