Bit of a long shot but have you played Singularity? It's a few years old now, but when I played it it felt a bit like a cross between Bioshock and Half Life 2.

Same company as Shadow Warrior, another awesome game. They are like Serious Sam and Painkiller except with near AAA production values. Well worth it especially as Hard Reset has been going for £5 on Steam recently. I grabbed it along with Doom 3 hardback cased for a tenner from GAME. One of the few times I'll shop at one of those leech boxes called a retailer.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a good single player Game. The Campaign is great as is the characters.

what about the stalker games? I still enjoy playing SoC with the complete mod.

Downloaded the latest version and it's SP only, also states on the latest update that multiplayer is a feature that's planned for 'future versions'. Unless there are more recent versions available outside of steam, which I can't find.

One to look forwards too anyway.

Just another suggestion, have you played Call of Juarez Gunslinger? It's an enjoyable story driven FPS with full controller support and a budget price.
