France riots

How is burning people's cars, homes, businesses and livelihoods in any way, shape or form acceptable, lest of all to prove a point?!

There is a right and wrong way to protest, and frankly this way is disgusting, shows no character whatsoever and does more harm than good.

If you had your car and business burned and set on fire by a North African, trying to get his point across, would you be employing them in the future?

Nope, nor would I.

You lay your bed, YOU SLEEP IN IT !

I have genuinely got absolutely no idea whatsoever what you are babbling on about?!

There is a time, a place, and a format for such things...
And unless you have the means to put pressure on the right people you'd be wasting your time.

I may not agree with rioting but I still deem it a means of protest.
That said I always say the greatest protest is disruption, not violence. If you can get in as many peoples way as possible then maybe someone will listen.

You can deem it whatever you like as long as you don't approve of it.

Getting in other people's way for your own end is selfish and, in my opinion immoral.

The French seem to like a good riot every now and again, the best ones are when it kicks off in Paris. Best just to leave them to it and hope that they don't give our underclass any ideas.

Don't worry they'll just blame it on foreigners.

Again.

Always works out so WELL for them.

Well actually....
BBC Website said:
.....It sparked an debate about deprivation and social exclusion, but many analysts say little has changed for France's marginalised youth, many of North African origin. .

Now who are the ignorant ones for accusing people of being racist when they are too ignorant to read the article?

So your idea of a protest is don't do anything to affect anyone else at all and then something will happen?

* Obviously doesn't know the difference between a Riot and a Protest *
I do.

I can not condone rioting but agree as a form of protest it is sometimes necessary or rather preferable to doing nothing if that is the alternative and there is an injustice. Particularly one which affects a large group of people.

Much like anything, it is a consequence, and that is what keeps people in line. It has a purpose, I don't want rioting to happen but I won't deny it has a place.

No, take your protest to those you have a grievance with. Getting in my way isn't going to make me, or anyone else sympathetic to your cause. In fact quite the opposite.

The fact you are even trying to mount some kind of defence for rioters speaks volumes about your personality and agenda, and I dislike it.

Good day.

It was an expression meant to highlight the dangers of thinking an argument is lent weight because other people believe in it. I am aware it is a myth, its veracity is irrelevant.

Not really. You can't say something is a poor argument because we used to do X and it turned out to be wrong if we never did X in the first place because it destroys the premise of your counter point.
