Weren't there rumours about that, back when Lucasarts were remaking classics like Monkey Island? There were bits of information, then it all went quiet.

They must be nuts, its a pinata full of cash waiting to be smashed open, they just need to make it.
 
the intro is still pretty cool

its kinda wierd how its regarded as one of the best pc games of all time and if you post about it on any forum people will all agree to this , yet it never had a sequel and the planned sequel would have been an xbox game anyway :rolleyes:
 
freelancer tachyon and freespace were epic especially the scaling on freespace the huge ships were HUGE it could take 30 seconds to fly past them!!!
 
I really enjoyed the story in Freespace 2 especially when you were entering through a cloud of static and a massive base would just appear in front of you - it was definitely a 'wow' moment - quickly followed by 'how the heck can you take that down'.

Looks like it could have actually been a fun game, Freelancer one would take a lot of beating though. and i liked how the planets etc were named after cities and things :)

One things for certain we need a new fun original space game!
 
just watched the trailor what a great trailor the really eerie music at the start (made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck) is from alien the main music is from aliens and the end is from predator 3 absolutely awesome scores there!!
 
I played the game on the custom jolt servers back in the day. It was immense despite the server being just a 64 player affair, as the game was heavily gimped by MS/development.

Superb title though, the star systems were great fun to venture into, just to find those unique weapons in ruined starship wrecks etc. Single player story I loved, as I did the music and Juni's...rear *ahem*.

Fear my massive torpedo cruiser, which took an age to turn around :p
