Freeware DVD Player that runs from Memory stick

Title says it all really,

I'm looking for a Freeware DVD player that will run from a memory stick.

The reason behind this is I want to watch DVD's on a laptop that is locked down without admin rights. So can't install any software.

Any ideas anyone.

mpc won't play a dvd without codecs installed.

vlc is the best as it needs no codecs

add yourself to be a local admin, get a linux live cd to change the local admin password.

And risk getting scaked for breaching a corporate Acceptable Use Policy? Just use portable VLC.

Another vote for VLC. You don't need to install anything and it doesn't need any auxiliary codecs.

I think you can copy the codecs to the same directory as the .ese, It may pick them up from there. I may be wrong

You may want to ask yourself why they have tied down the machines. Your company may well get cross if they spot that you have watched DVDs on your work machine.

My mate has just received an official warning for booting a live CD and doing the sort of thing you are considering. The fact that it was not 'his' pc but the company's was make clear to him in no uncertain terms.
