Oh, and every time Leclerc is mentioned, all I can think of is...

I'm of a certain age... ;)

F2 looking interesting. Teams getting the wet tyres ready while they're all on the parade lap on the slicks.
Given how chaotic it is normally, imagine how bad/entertaining it could with a wet track and slick tyres.

2 of the 3 top drivers in the championship stalled on the grid, spinners, sliding everywhere.... Yup. F2.

I'm going to say something that may be unpopular...

McLaren needs Ron. They now have many people in charge, but they need a dictator. Ok, his vision for Honda was premature, but I can see him now pointing at the Toro Rosso cars and saying, I was right.

At least with a single person giving them focus, there's a single voice and a single person to blame. But, they got rid of him, and look where McLaren are now.

Plus, I really miss Ronspeak

It seems to me that McLaren lost their way after the building of the Technology Centre. The car company wing rather than providing a stable base for the F1 team has pulled concentration from it.

Management isn't helping. Ron was obsessive but it worked, those that followed him have carried forth his obsessive approach but turned it into a toxic atmosphere.

Yes funny how many were saying here ron was wrong and he should be got rid off. To my eyes the whole of the current management team should be got rid of now, it is clearly demonstrating that managing a F1 team by a committe doesn't work...

There were a lot of stories that Honda couldn't get the engine right because Ron kept telling them how to do their jobs instead of letting them work. Maybe his autocratic style worked for Maclaren, but not for Honda as an engine partner. And if you look back at the Ron years, there's not been a lot of success in the last couple of decades before he got ousted. Still, anything has to be better than the mess they are currently in.

Ron put together much of the current team. Ron is stuck in the past as are certain other relics of F1 (Symmonds), he's not the answer. That obsessive nature and the belief that working harder and being more strict somehow wins over knowledge, creativity and finding solutions by having different types of voices within a team rather than storm trooper like management is what is probably required.

Ron is entirely responsible for the current situation, most of the current staff and the complete disaster of Honda.

Brawn was forward thinking, saw where F1 was going and built a team to compete at the top level for years to come and what a ridiculously fine job he did.

Any big team struggling that didn't go over there and offer him the world to rebuild the team over 3 years then do as he wants, leave or stay and continue, is mental. Brawn is horrendously wasted in his current position and those who didn't pay him anything to rebuild them are utterly utterly stupid.

The idea of Ron coming back to fix the very problem he created is insane to me. He'd come back, make insane unreasonable demands, hire people he thinks would fit the corporate culture rather than who could rebuild and change things from running the way Ron demands who would be better.

Mclaren needs to move forward, they're style hasn't worked for the best part of 20 years. They've become a PR firm who care more about the message than the product and Ron started them on that path. Mclaren ARE Ron speak, bull ****, we have the best chassis, with a better engine we'd be challenging for wins, etc, etc. The very very last thing they need is king of double speak coming back. Mclaren need to become a modern racing team and throw out the BS culture that is holding them back, not reinforce it.

So yesterday we was stuck in our car just outside the car park of the track for an hour not moving while the security staff where just letting people come out ahead of us from what looks like the vip parking right next to the airport . We was fuming and one woman behind us came out and almost got into a fight with a armed security guard controlling traffic . As soon as we got out of the circuit area it was home dry .

Bloody joke .never going to this race again and highly recommend you lot don't bother either

A lot of people on the F1 Facebook also saying it's been organised poorly. Shame really when people travel and get let down.

Look like a very high chance of a thunderstorm between 4 and 6pm!

Funny how Bernie demanded a decent road to Magny Cours if they wanted to keep the Grand Prix.
Bernie owned this circuit.... *It's now his ex's circuit.* and the roads leading to it are pants.

Maybe Magny Cours would be the better choice in the future?

Used to give Silverstone stick every year for crap transport links and facilities. What has this place got, few temporary stands and useless roads into it.
