So, the Belgium tenant was fine, he cleaned all our dishes and cleaned the kitchen, took the rubbish out, he was good.

Now this French guy is a disaster, we refer to him as French, we don't know his name

Anyway, he moves in without notifying the office, office now sorted this, he then starts using our knifes, forks and dishes, makes a mess of the hobs, uses the dustbin, dustbin full so uses floor in kitchen. He does not clean his mess, his 4 week old washing up is still there, he never took the bins out, these were in the hall for 2 weeks.

We spotted a rat running across the hallway last night.

Am I being unreasonable that next time I see him I'm going to have a serious word with him and I'm going to be angry as well.

I kindly asked him about a week or two ago, and all I got from him was uhmmmmmmmm, uhmmmmmmm uhhhhhhmmmmmmmm, with a real arrogant look on his face.

Thanks for reading, sorry about any mistakes, I'm on my phone waiting for a doctors appointment, currently 45 mins late The doctor is.

i dont think where they come from matters?
its not on though, comunal areas should be clean and tidy at all times
just got back from the docs myself after a 30 min wait :/

Talk to him nicely first, then firmly. If that does not work wait until he goes out and does not lock his door. Dump said rubbish on his bed. Worked in my flat an Uni. Helps if you'r significantly larger than them though.

You definitely need to nip it in the bud as soon as possible. In the student house I stayed in when living in Bradford, one day about 5 Poles turned up and we were informed they would all be staying in the house (in 1 room no less :o).

They created a hell of a mess, used our food from the fridge and other utensils in the kitchen and unfortunately, as nothing was said, it continued until they moved out (well disappeared tbh, as one day they just weren't there any more.

Tell him in no uncertain terms to get his act together, or the only reason there'll be rats about will be due to the presence of his rotting corpse beneath the floorboards.

I don't use it myself so I don't understand all the intricacies.....

......but is there some way you could take photo's of his mess and leave them on his facebook page where all his friends and family can see?

They'd only see it and begin doing that horrid, smug, "ha-hawww-haww-haa-hawwwww!!" French laugh.

Let's be honest, if he acts like that before a talking to not much is going to change after. I had such a flying rage last year at our spanish guy after weeks (months?) of asking him nicely and not a single thing changed except he started cooking at 4am in the morning instead so no one was around to ask him to wash up. We got the code to his door and started putting his washing up on his desk while he was out and even then it would take days of it being in his room to wash up.

And now he's buggered off after signing the contract and we're all left in the **** :D

MY last tenant who rented a room off of me was a nightmare. He literally did no cleaning, washing up, etc. I had to ask him for weeks to do anything and then it was done badly so I gave up. He was a good mate of mine and lived with me for 4 years. He's recently moved out and I can safely say I would never have another one. I miss the money but not the mess/smell/etc. Seems to of drifted away as a mate as well which is a shame.

Never have a mate as a tenant. If your tenant gets out of line you have to be stern with them immediately.
