This image expresses the fact that modern men have feelings. I feel that this portrayal is somewhat accurate however most modern men also have legs. They are also accustomed to having paint on their walls. You will notice he left part of the newspaper on his chair and has carried the other part to the phone. Holding the newspaper he is expressing his emotions to a party on the other end of the line. Or perhaps the man is talking to himself and listening to a dial tone, giving the impression that perhaps modern men are too emotional. The subtext in this drawing may indicate that the artist wishes for a cro-magnon beast to club her over the head and drag her back to his den. This leaves me hopeful that in the struggle the man may disable her fingers permanently rendering her unable to make another comic.
