I built this whilst at my hackerspace tonight. It allows me to use my Fatal1ty Gaming headset (or any 2-jack headset) with my iPhone and still be able to use the mic. The red button performs the same function as the one on the iPhone headset (play/pause/next/prev/rewind/fasforward). The 3.5mm sockets came off a creative SoundBlaster 128 from 1999 and the 4-pin jack is from a broken iPhone headset.
