Friday night head scratcher help :(

Over the damn moon :D

Now to find out what the score is with the other Corsair PSU. I have a hunch its going to work just fine.

SHOCK HORROR!

The HX1000W functions perfectly with both one and two EPS plugs powered up.

Looks like thats a local retailer on my hate list

Indeed, I can now spend the next few hours rebuilding the loop and who knows, I might even get chance to apply an OC on this thing!

Gawd I hate the smell of MX-4.

Me too, but better not speak too soon, I haven't actually booted into an OS yet, just bench power to get a readout from the motherboard.

Just waiting for the battery drill to charge up for a minor mod (adding res), looks like my dewalt batteries are on the way out too, things have completely drained over 2 weeks without use :(

Are you safe to be around a drill right now, especially as you haven't loaded an OS yet :D

Power tools I can handle/repair no probs, I'm a dewalt/metabo/makita/bosch (you get the point) repair agent

Computers on the other hand....wind me up :p

Hopefully it all goes well this time. :)

I hope so too, at least I'm making progress, I've gotten further in the last 2 hours than I have in the last 2 weeks :D

Ahh thats good to know, can i send you my makita lxt18v driver, making awful noise, sounds like the motors gone rusty or got grit inside.

Glad to hear your getting back on track, just in time for those ltg blocks

Unless the motor smells like fire it'll be fine, grinding noise would tell me a gear is stripping, or a bearing has burst ;)

Yup of all places to put a damn sticker that was the worst possible choice.

Didn't get any further last night, ready to bleed the loop and fire it up tonight :D

Thx, makes sense, sometimes jumps out of its speed selector switch, done that since new.

Hope all goes well tonight.

Ta :)

If it's jumping out then it needs the gear box assy replaced, if you registered it you can get this done for free under warranty. Over the last few years manufacturers have been using softer metals in power tool gearboxes, they strip so easily, metabo lt series is a good example of this. Makita do the same. Parts are very very cheap to buy on makita tools though :)
