Friend given up job to play WoW

Anyway there's no talking to wow people they are too far gone.

that star wars mmo will be the same old repetitive level grinding rubbish too.

So you don't like it, fair enough. It still baffles me however, how people like you don't see that everyone is different, has different tastes, and likes different things! Ah well, everyone is entitled to their opinion I suppose!

Must say after years of slagging wow off saying... "Bunch of fairy loving hippy crap" i've now learnt what you say to be true.... EACH TO THEIR OWN! dont knock it until you've totally tried it!

Personally i cant fudging wait for JGE (if it ever comes)

Just because you play wow doesn't mean you're an addict.

I know tons of wow'ers (I'm kind of quit myself) who play the game on a semi-regular basis but have full time employment and all the other bits and bobs of a regular life for their age.

the fact 11 million people pay £8 must mean there is something about it!

Although of course more than 11 million people paid for Britney Spears records and watch Big Brother, so its somewhat debatable whether that "something about it" is necessarily an indication of quality or not :D

Yeah but Where is Britney now and BB is about to finish for good! :D

BB is only finishing for good in the UK, not globally. :)

All things come to an end though, like Britney, as will WoW of course. At this stage its questionable whether WoW will last as long as UO has, time will tell on that one.

But as Wow finishes something has to take its place!

Guys seriously read this... this guy is so frigging funny:

Yeah, another MMO, who knows what that will be, maybe UO2 if they ever get around to doing it. Maybe Daoc 2. Maybe something Star Wars, maybe a Bethesda MMO, maybe a blockbuster EA MMO, guess we will have to wait and see what comes up. Unlikely I will be playing whatever it is though, think my gaming days will be long past by then :) (unless its UO2, that would bring me out of gaming retirement in a jiffy :D )

No different from anyone wanting to take time off work to do "insert anything in the world".
Sure he hasn't money saved up from his job to pay for food/subs/etc?

Don't blame the guy for liking this and wanting to spend time on it, I'm 25 and expect to travel for a while in a couple of years.

What? gaming days passed.... dont kid yourself... we're entering into a world where gaming will be the normal for most people!

I play WoW and work full time, When I finish work I get a couple of hours with the GF then when she goes to bed I play a couple of hours of wow,

Any game can be addictive, It's all about how much free time you have, I had all the time in the world back in school/college so I filled it with games, now I get a couple of hours a day to myself.

I have been playing for 4 years now and have 1 character at level 80 and one at 73,

It can be done casually

People like me huh ? fair play but I'm not the one wasting my life time and money playing mmo's so I am happy to be a person like me.
You are addicted to levelling up not the gameplay or social aspects, a lot of the people that play the game probably only leave their house to cash their giro every 2 weeks so saying social side is quite funny.
