Friends

I thought Friends was funny for the first few seasons but then became bored of it. My mate loves it though and has most of the episodes on VHS.

I've got the Red Dwarf and Babylon 5 series on DVD, I'm now collecting Drop the Dead Donkey and finishing off Buffy (need to get 4 seasons of it).
 
I find about 15% of each Friends episode amusing. Apart from Chandler and Rachel the main characters are just annoying and the same jokes are played out season after season, (Monicas clean, Joeys stupid, Ross is a nerd who gets married, Phoebe's kooky). It's saving grace is the secondary (and minor) characters, Jack Geller, the guy Hank Azaria played, that psycho roomate, Bruce Willis, Gunther, Chandlers parents, I could go on, they're all hilarious and the show would've never lasted 10 years had it not been for them.

Charles Bing: Hello, Nora.

Nora Bing: Hello, Charles.

Charles Bing: Well, it's nice to see all of you. Although we are seeing a bit too much of some. Aren't you a little old to be wearing a dress like that?

Excellent show (at first). It started gradually getting worse from Series 4 onwards or when Matt Perry was struggling with his addiction to painkillers.

The best episode was the one with blackout. :)

gotta agree although i love the whole show

series 2-5 were at the peak... after that 5-10 were still great... but obviously not as original.. or werent up to series 2-5.

my favourite is series 3/4... genius
 
[Rachel & Phoebe walk towards Joey's apartment]

[Ross Hides round the corner]

Ross: DANGER, DANGER!

[Girls scream]

Rachel: What the hell was that?

Ross: A lesson in the importance of Unagi (Does the finger thing)

Phoebe: You're a freak!

Ross: Perhaps . . Now I'm curious, what part of the girlish screams were you about to 'Kick my ass'

The other one that had me in stitches was when Joey had to lead the dance class :D

Friends is probably the most memorable sitcom ever for me. I'm not a big fan, but I have seen them all and its just great to catch all the repeats on E4 to see the gang again. It's my fav sitcom with Cheers close behind.
 
CHANDLER: ... hold on a second Joe, where do Dutch people come from?

JOEY: Ah well, the ah, Pennsylvania Dutch, come from Pennsylvania.

CHANDLER: And the other ah, Dutch people, they come on from somewhere near the Netherlands, right?

JOEY: Nice try. See the Netherlands is this make believe place where Peter Pan and Tinker Bell come from.

Yeah I can't figure why its so expensive. Its published by Fox though so you can guarantee they will re-release the sets later on down the line.
 
Wonderful sit com. Can watch them over and over. Every quote in this thread has had me sniggering, so funny, even when you know all the words.

The first series is great to watch if you haven't seen it for a while. Chandler smoking in the office is one of my favourite scenes. The one with all the poker is great too.

Chandler: (entering) Hey!

Joey: Hey!

Chandler: Hey-hey-hey. So what happened? A forest tick you off?

Joey: No. Y'know how we’re always saying we need a place for the mail.

Chandler: Yeah!

Joey: Well, I started building one. But then I decided to take it to
the next step.

Chandler: You’re building a post office?

Joey: No, an entertainment unit, with a mail cubby built right in.
It’s a one day job, max.

Chandler: Okay. (notices that Joey is wearing some really tight jeans)
My word! Those are snug.

Joey: Oh yeah. These are my old work pants, Sergio Valente’s.

(Chandler goes to his bedroom and opens the door. However, only the
top half opens, and he trips into his bedroom over the bottom half.)

Joey: Power saw kinda got away from me there.

[Scene: Chandler and Joey’s, Joey is drilling a hole in the wall and
the drill comes out the other side really close to Chandler’s head.
Chandler then rushes out to talk to Joey.]

Joey: Oh, I’m sorry. Did I get ‘ya?

Chandler: No, you didn’t get me!! It’s an electric drill, you get me,
you kill me!!

Joey: Calm down, do you want this unit or not?

Chandler: I do NOT want this unit!!

Joey: Well, you should’ve told me that before, I’m not a mind reader.
Hey, we’re out of beer. I’m going to Monica’s.

Chandler: Fine! (goes into his room and slams the door, then he slams
the bottom half of the door.)

I unpacked all my Friends DVD the other night, looking at them contemplating what to watch and looking at the episode list and thought which one i would want to see and what's the best one.

Althou the football one is class "Ross: Enough Geography for the insane", I think one of the best one is the Lighting Round one, for me, that episode is absolute genius. I remember watching it and it was the best 23 mins of sitcome i've seen. I had a smile all the way through it.

Joey: occupation.... dinosaurs.

Ross: Actually.. I'm a paleont.. *sigh* just put dinosaurs.
