"From an X perspective" - is this the new "literally"?

I don't think this phrase is being used massively more than previously. It's also not the new "literally", because that was used inappropriately, whereas this is generally used in a situation that makes sense.

I catch myself saying "if that makes sense" far too often - I don't know whether I say it because I believe my explanations to be crap, or I assume people are dense.
I've started using "does that make sense?" as a way of closing after explaining something, as I've heard others using it effectively. It's slightly rhetorical in that depending on the audience, some people don't like confrontation so won't want to say "no, that doesn't make sense." It's essentially a closed question. So it can sometimes help to gain passive agreement for things, i.e. if you make a proposal and it isn't challenged, then people are less likely to challenge it in future.
Conversely however if you genuinely want to elicit feedback, something like "any thoughts or comments on that?" is slightly more open and could provoke more engagement.
