Front/back flips

Yeah, sure, whatever.

Yes, they're easier than doing it without, as well as completely different (unless you can jump like a frog), but if you're talking about landing on your feet afterwards, it's not that easy.

Someone's a bit touchy about this topic.

I did a backflip, infact that's wrong... I did half a backflip. Fractured 3 of my vertebra :p

Don't want to be overly picky but unless you are pretty good on a BMX or bikes and jumping in general I wouldn't suggest trying any flips, I know that even pro MTBers will think twice before attempting it so amateurs really need to consider it pretty carefully. I wouldn't bother because I don't go off the ground enough and if I do it frequently involves a dead sailor impression, oddly my balance on the ground is nigh on perfect but as soon as I leave terra firma I struggle whether on bike or snowboard. :)

If you just want to do a forwards roll then I can happily recommend an Aikido style roll, basically involves throwing yourself over your own shoulder, you want to create as much of a circle out of your own body as possible because it means that the momentum and therefore hard impact is negated to a large extent.

It was just the massive assumption that everyone that trains to do even the most basic somersault on a trampoline safely is wasting their time because it's dead easy and perfectly safe.

It's not as easy as it looks. Trust me.

I've down a front flip. I used to learn by jumping into a pool. Tried it on land, did a few handstands at first but then managed to get one decent front flip in. :D

I've done it and it's one of the easiest things I've ever done.

We had a period of trying to do front flips with crash mats at Kung Fu, once you have the technique nailed its pretty easy apparently, i tried it once and had to use my hands, plus i didnt like it much so didnt try it again.

It's not a hard technique and it's all about confidence so once you've got the confidence you can do it every time very easily.

I used to be a Gymnast ( Flame Shield on ) and I used to do back and frontflips as regular parts of floor routines. When I ****** up several times doing them I usually landed either on my head or my neck and other than a slight bit of kraziness hasn't done me any harm
