Frosty's 780Ti X79 Overhaul

25.6 dB :)

Cut, and flat and polished the edging for a factory finish. It's actually pretty thick which helped massively as normally it bows or cracks.

Make shift mounted it to test the benefit, then going to drill and mount with some bolt headed screws so it looks flush :). LED out on the fan though so may get onto OCUK about that.

It's currently attached by Velcro pads but intend to take them off and drill some screw holes at some point.

It's an intake, because there's no other clean source of air as I've maxed out rad space, under load it's knocked between 4 and 6 degrees off internal temps. :). I've taken it off for now as even with the filter it's sucking in copius amounts of dust lol.

And finally I used xspc 1200rpm fans, but it's funny you should ask Neil as ones making a noise already and I'm having to chop it out. Might be a one off though. They're pretty quiet considering speed though. At 50% and 13 fans going the machine is practicably dead silent.

Thanks :)

As I say the fans gone for now till I seal it properly. In truth, it's not really done a whole lot to component temperatures, CPU maybe but not enough to warrant the extra noise.

:D

Sorry but I can't be doing with all the dust in there :D. The few degrees aren't worth the hassle, full rad cases do just tend to get a bit warm. But between 25-35c internal ambient isn't bad, just me being anal. I'll get the screw holes mocked up and put it on there in case I change my mind in the Summer :)

Also...gripe with Corsair...

Bought a new panel off their store, it arrived damaged, signed for it as such. Opened a support ticket. Had nothing from them for over a week, created another ticket 2 days ago, still nothing.

I've got a support ticket from 2 years ago regarding memory that never got answered under my account as well. Corsair are on a slippery slope TBH. Their PSUs have gone downhill, and now I've got a panel that I paid top dollar for which is mashed and badly packaged.

Will go on livechat if it ever comes online later, but not happy.

That is beautiful, reckon youll do anymore to it?

Ta :)

I doubt it! I'm waiting on the last bit of tubing so that I can run the 1080 out of the rear of the case. I contemplated buying a Classified however I doubt I will now. The blocks don't line up and it would be a pig to run tubing with one classified and two reference.
