Praise be to raptor Jesus, local FB group said my nearest Shell just had a tanker arrived, avoided the noobs queuing for a mile down the high street by taking the back roads and coming out a side road next to the petrol station. Full tank achieved, petrol light be gone.

The whatsapp/facebook groups of where's the petrol has seemed to died down here now so looks like it's getting better.

I'm assuming queue was further back than the junction he was coming out and somebody let him in?

Didn’t jump, just used the country lanes to arrive more or less next to the station at the back of a short queue rather than the main road and a long queue.

I recognise that - I used to work on Orpington High Street, and I used to use that very Shell station regularly on my way in
Got full tanks on all my cars, Yaris was down to half a tank, was driving towards an empty Esso which had all fuels in stock, so that is now back on a full tank, I won't ever queue and just keep the tank full when opportunity arises for an easy in and out redbull style pit stop.

Arent you exactly the problem? You dont really have a good reason to have all 5 of your cars full, you can only drive one at a time

I am not rushing out to buy fuel or joining any queues, just if I am approaching half a tank and I see a fuel station with super99 and no queue whilst I am on the road, then I will grab some fuel.

Small world. I usually use that Shell or the Petts Wood one if I’m desperate but 95% of the time I fill up at the Shells on the A20 going to/from work as it means zero detours.
I am not rushing out to buy fuel or joining any queues, just if I am approaching half a tank and I see a fuel station with super99 and no queue whilst I am on the road, then I will grab some fuel.

Generally yes, a couple had full tanks before the shortage, it is simply to save the hassle of filling up when planning on going on a road trip or track day etc.

All that is happening around here now (smallish town) is the petrol stations are out, they get a resupplied, people post on local facebook etc, everyone swarms to it, petrol station is dry again. Rinse/repeat

I generally do - I fill up when I get below a half usually.
