Hi, Just curious as to how everybody fuels their vehicle. Currently I fill mine after each pay day (monthly) once I need to which costs around £40-£45. This can last me up until 4 or 5 days before the next pay day. However I'm thinking of trying fuelling up once per week for about £10 a time. Would this work out better given the car would weigh less or is filling the tank better? What does everybody do?

I fill it once a week if needed but I have budgeted for that. Depending on what I do in the evenings, a tank could last me 2 weeks.

It would make no difference in terms of weight saved effecting fuel economy to any noticeable degree.

I fill mine once every 5 days if I'm just using it for work, which costs me the grand total of about £15.

What you do is fine, the weight will make absolutely no difference to justify doing once a week - if anything, you'll expend more fuel travelling to the station once a week...

I'm still in a bad habit of putting £40-50 in at a time rather than filling up, don't know why... Always seem to be in a rush at the petrol station and can't be bothered standing around longer - i fill up once a week, sometimes every 2 weeks.

Wait until fuel gauge shows zero or near on, about 100 miles for town riding, then fill up on the way home. £20 lasts me around 2 weeks, without any additional trips.

The money saved with weight saving is then usually lost driving to fill up and time spent filling/queueing. Usually brim it and forget about it until I'm 40 miles into the warning light.

At least once a week , usually on Sunday , however i got a new car which is drinking petrol at the moment.

So looking at about £50 a week , and i usually brim fill.

I've always done this and for the first time 2 months ago ran out half way up the hill to the petrol station :o

You'd think I'd learn from it but nope, still doing it...

Errr when I run low on fuel, I fill the car up. What else are you supposed to do?

I usually carefully calculate how much fuel i should need for each trip based on in depth analysis of previous fuel economy data, combined with expected traffic flow for that journey.

I then fill up using a jerry can and measuring jug on my drive.

:p

£30 lasts me just over 200 miles and two weeks of driving. Will drop slightly with winter getting here now though.
