Fuggan's Abbey Dash Assault

Aye, so bloody gutted all day yesterday, felt a bit better today but still ****ed off. :(

Yeah, definitely going back for more, got a few races lined up.

Planning on running Blackpool half in Feb next year, then got the Manchester Marathon in April next year, so the Trafford 10k could be a nice filler in between. Planning on starting training for the marathon in the next couple of weeks. Starting to look at plans etc. now. Yeah I drive so could be game for that!

Have you done a full marathon? Can you recommend any good plans? Thought about putting my own together but wouldn't mind following a tried and tested number.

That's the spirit. Thinking of doing the Manchester Marathon myself. And I did the Blackpool half last year.

I've done three marathons so far. Windermere in 2011, Lancaster 2012 and London 2013. Decided against doing one this year and focused on the shorter races and half marathons instead.

I'm not one to follow a strict plan myself and just try to fit in different types of run as and when I feel like it so can't recommend any I've used personally but I've seen this on runnersworld before and considered it.

SmartCoach

Yeah get yourself signed up and I'll see you at the start line! :p

That SmartCoach looks pretty good, shame you can't increase the amount of weeks you want to train over. I'm doing my local park run on Saturday and going to try smash a PB in there so will use that to calculate my plan off. Feel like I have unfinished business, just been out for a steady 30 and legs still feel like they are primed. SO GUTTED I couldn't finish as strong in the dash!

I've no reason not to really, will enter on payday. :)

And in terms of starting now instead of 16 weeks before (I'm guessing this is what you want to do) then you could just build up a base mileage before and give yourself a better start if that makes sense.

And good luck Saturday, hope it makes up a little for Sunday. :)
