Fuji X Series

I've put the 33 up for sale. I just can't get on with the size on my X-E4 for what I do.

Great opportunity to grab this lens as new for a discounted price.

Would love it but no way I could justify having both it and a 23 1.4 in my arsenal.

On another topic (which is why I'm here) I just did my first corporate shoot (since basically the whole Covid thing started) for a gym and certainly the first shoot I've done since I started using the Fuji X Raw Studio and I have to say I'm blown away.
I have been guilty (more than most I would say) of just shooting RAW in the past, getting the shot(s) bagged and then relying on C1 to bring everything in line. Since I really started experimenting with X Raw I have been shooting more JPGs in my own time and this has led to me making more of an effort getting shots right 'in camera'. On this particular job I shot RAW+JPG and I have to say the JPG's have come out a treat. I dialled in a Porta 400 recipe beforehand and the cameras (X-T3 & X-S10) pretty much did the rest. It wasn't my intention to use the JPGs but having a play today with my shots I can't make the images any more appreciably better in C1 than I can with a few light edits in X Raw. It also helps that as I'm still running C1 20 my X-S10 isn't compatible so X Raw is my only option for that camera.

Just sharing my ramblings!

You have the new 23 1.4?

The 33 is now on eBay (thanks max £1 final value fee) so if anyone is interested best move quickly ;)

Sending the 33 back for a full refund so no need to sell it.

I also decided to go back to the X100V because on reflection it was perfect for the family outing type photos that I do and the handling was exceptional. So the X-E4 is also going back. I bet these shops love me.

So I've won an X-E3 with the 18-55 for £550 which seems good. The description is like new with a shutter count of 100. X-E3 in like new condition normally go for £450+.

I loved my X-E2S I used to have, perfect size. The X-E4 is good, but the handling took a massive hit.

Nice was thinking of getting one of these and putting a 35 F2 on and have a walk around/pocketable kit.

I do like my X-E3 a lot, I’ve had it almost two years now, bought from the official refurb shop so doesn’t sound like it owes me much at all. Imagine quality is great and focus performance was a nice step on from the X-T10 I had.

I preferred the handling of the X-T10 and often find I accidentally nudge the joystick and change focus point on the X-E3. I’ve also got a finger grip/tripod frame thing on it which helps the handling for me.

I would quite like to try an X-T2 or 3 but prices are still high given there’s so much tech overlap with the X-E3.

Just got back from a trekking trip in the Atlas Mountains. Took a fair bit of kit.

Getting on much better with the XF 16mm f1.4 now. It spent most of the time on my camera capturing some great landscape and portrait shots. Unfortunately I slipped and scraped it on some rocks so no longer in pristine condition.

My other recent purchase the 55-200 performed well too with the OIS definitely helping out before sunrise. Should also mention the Samyang 8mm (which was purchased as a bit of a joke/creative lens) actually produced some great group shots.

But to be perfectly honest, I’m still blown away by the 23mm F2 I’ve had for years now. There’s just something about the images, the way I just always seem to nail the shot when I’m using it. X-T20 and the 23mm F2 for me is the ultimate travel photography package.

If anyone is interested I’ll get some snaps up when I’m finished in LR.

Battle scars are just a sign a lens has been well used :D

Yes to posting images!

All on the 16mm 1.4 bar the last which is the 23mm F2.

Still blows my mind how you can get images like the first one on this lens (although yes I realise it's a bit soft and probably should have gone for f2). Perfect for portraits with a bit more context. I had a go at astrophotography during the 3am climb to the summit. Unfortunately we had to power on without any stops to get up there for sunrise so I had to sack off using my tripod/composing shots and just did quick 10/15s exposures at F2 resting the camera on whatever rocks I could find!

I nearly sold my x100f earlier this year after not using it much but since then, I've given it a lot more time and really enjoying using it....much more than using my old Canon DSLR or even my iPhone considering the fact that I have that with me all the time. Here's a few I took this weekend on a trip to Brighton that I was particularly pleased with. I'm sure that technically, there's lots of room for improvement but I'm happy with them. I'd welcome any feedback.
