Full Auto - Played

Ok I got my copy yesterday and myself and a mate of mine played it for about 3 and a half hours solid... I then dropped him home and put another hour and a half in. Normally my gaming time is 1 to 2 hours max before I get bored! ... and I havent even been on live yet

Right lets get this out of the way- This game does suffer from slow down issues, not as bad as the demo but they are still there and still noticable. A few times last night I would say the frame rate dropped to single digits. Even my mate noticed and he's normally the last person to notice that sort of thing. If not having a constant stable framerate bothers you then your best off avoiding this game. Whilst we're on the subject of negatives the AI can be VERY harsh. ie. you can be in first for 80% of the race, you get taken out or crash and your dropped to last. Also cruising along at max speed and the opposition cars cruise by you (although sometimes its a welcome little bit of target practice). Again if shifty AI bothers you then your probably best to avoid.

That aside i'm hooked, this game is fun condensed with added mayhem then squashed onto a little shiney disk. You can't take it seriously. I doub't its the sort of game you can truely master but if your not put off by the framerate and AI I challenge you to play it without a huge grin on your face :D

For me this is what games are about, I can't get into a proper story line, I don't ant to follow a plot I just want a quick fix of fun and this game delivers. Its early days but i'll stick my neck out and say its my favourite game so far on the 360 but its deffinately not everyones cup of tea.

What lordrobs said :)
Btw, you won't be able to put it down... I've been trying for 2 days now to put it down and do something else :\

Hmm i'm quite finicky about AI - Hated Most Wanted on the PC because the AI was just so utterly OTT that it made modding your car pointless. Having said that I think I'll hold off buying it and wait for CoD2 to get returned back to me.

Going to order mine now. Can't stand paying £50 for games so I like to get it for £40. ;)

Round here Tesco and Asda do games for £39.98 and an independant department store does their limited selection of games for £39.99 each.

W00t

Just wanted to say W00T because I just unlocked all 50 achievements for Full Auto :D

Err, ye, I like this game :)

Think I might have to get this seeing as I'm off this week.

Played *** NFS demo again today, I still say if that wasn't so poorly coded (slowdown city) I'd like it. Just had 5 mins of avoiding the cops, very enjoyable it was. Could have been so much better. Don't suppose the full game is better?

** going off topic ever so slightly :)

nfs demo is a very good representation of the full game, slow down city!!

really hacked me off that one did.

Gonna try to get full auto tomorrow if i can sneak out of work lol, gonna trade in amped 3. God its annoying, be boarding down the slopes an it seems to pull you towards the rails even if you dont want to grind em.

/rant off lol

I hope this slow down isnt a "feature" were gonna be seeing a lot of. NFS:mw was one of the main games i wanted to work on the xbox, i was thinking ace i wont upgrade me pc as that slows down lol i will get it on t'xbox :(

So full auto 8.5/10??? or 9/10 gets the general thumbs up?? worth me investing in? lol

Play the demo :) Like (that includes thinkings its 'OK') it / love it, then you'll really like the full game. Hate it, or definitely dislike it, then you almost definitely won't like the full game. Demo is in the Live Marketplace :)

Oh, Royal Mail, why do you taunt me so?

I was expecting it this morning, had the day all set aside for it... not that I have much to set aside :D

Mine didnt turn up either, the first time I've known the place I ordered from be late with dispatching something !

OK, just to add to this thread.

Bought this today. Was after something new to play, both 'new' as in age and 'new' as in something different.

Graphics wise, it's definately not your PGR3. There's some nice graphics, some really damn good gorgeous explosions and some lovely chrome effect on the cars. Scenary is very nice, but like I said, it's no PGR3.

Soundwise, the effects are brilliant, definately something to blow both you AND the neighbours away, the only downside to the sound is some of the music, not much, but some is downright bloody annoying.

As for the gaming itself, it's fast, furious, lots of action and a hell of a lot to do. It's kinda like a crazy-taxi meets carmagghedon in that the game is fast as hell, you're ALWAYS in the action and you're generally a cause of that action too. Very nice.

Lots of ramps, jumps, twists, turns, 2 wheel stunts etc etc.

As a clue to what you can do, there's telephone poles which you can shoot down and smash them into the cars. Take a corner too much and you break the plaster, keep hitting the wall and you're down to the brick work, again and again and you've made a hole! Nice.

Overall, really really nice game, doesn't show off the capabilities of the console, but a whole lotta fun.

Well my copy arrived today, and god damn it's fun in a box ! It's just constant carnage. The 'wreck points' are a good inclusion, they work pretty much like kudos in PGR. The 3 levels of race completion are nice too, gives you something to aim for if you can't quite hit gold or the other way around.

One thing though is the slow-down. Now there's been lots made of this, but as far as I can tell is it's no worse than the demo I played of NFS. It goes a bit belly-up when it's mayhem on-screen, but that's it. Having said that, when it slows down it makes sure you know it's slowed down !

Not tried it on live yet, think I'll be doing that later once I've got some more single player in. Don't want to make a nipple of myself online :)
