full format software?

hi guys, i want to fully format a hard drive so its like factory settings, whats the best program to use to achieve this?

Facotry settings is a drive with no partition and no format. Just delete the existing partition.

As long as its not the system drive, just select it in disc management and do a normal full format on it.

Get the ultimate boot cd and zero write it with something like "CopyWipe" (or your hard drive manufacturers application if they have one). What make is the drive?

its a western digital drive.

OK, like Ben643 said, either get the WD disk utility or google for a free secure erase program (there's lots).

Darik's Boot and Nuke: http://www.dban.org/. Download the boot CD and boot from it. make sure its the only drive cabled up to your computer so you dont accidentally nuke the wrong one.
