Im Booked in for an appointment at a tattooist in under 3 weeks time for a complete sleeve from shoulder to wrist.

some people think its a bad idea, some think its a good one.

some people think it will ruin my job opportunities. some dont.

what does ocuk think?

I'm thinking that like all tattoo threads that surface, if you really want it its your body, as you will have to live with it. It may affect your job possibilities as some people are prejudiced against tattoos, also what job you are going for (police can't have visible tattoos iirc)

freelance musician. producer. etc etc

you hit the nail on the head, it is my body. and ive always been into body art/mods etc

Aslong as it's good and by a good tattooist (not your bog-standard highstreet/backstreet artist) and it actually has a purpose then it's fine.
Tattoo's aren't as prejudiced as they used to be, however you will be living up to the stereotype for your music being the drummer, it would be more interesting if you didn't in my opinion.

why? bit more info?
If you wanted reasons you should've asked for them :p

They look awful
They force people into preconceptions
They can't be covered up in future years when you get bored of them like other ink can
You're still very young. In 10 years time you'll be a completely different person and you'll have mutilated your body as someone else and will have to live with it.

it'll be done in a new skool style, by a very good artist. a female artist too. hubba hubba.

If you really wanted one, you wouldn't be asking.

If you need to ask other people, you shouldn't get one.

I would have thought it would depend on what type of job you do or company you work for, if say your dealing with with the public, then it might be an idea to keep it covered up, which you would do for an interview anyway ;)

But I say if you want a full sleeve tat then go for it

He only asked our opinions as far as I can tell, he didnt ask if we think he should go through with it. At the end of the day if he is happy with it, like I am happy with mine then anybody else's opinion doesnt bother me.

Neon- Is this your first time under the needle?

Well yes, after all, you asked ME what MY opinion was. They still look awful, and I can appreciate the artwork.

Its not your artwork though.

Yup. Is forcing someone through your own choice a good idea?

Anyways im out for the night, i shall read when im back.

Good luck, I was really nervous as the needle started but I was quite suprised by the pain, it wasnt an unbearable pain but about an hour later I was getting a bit hacked off with it all :)
