That makes it a much, much, much worse idea.

not it doesnt, if i had a small tat i would hate, and id have it covered all the time.

so ive been thinking on it for a long time.

im just asking everyones opinion

OK fair enough. :)

  • They often look crap. Depends on what type of design and colours you have, but I've seen very few tattooes that look 'good'.
  • It gives a negative image to a lot of people.
  • You'll most likely have it for the rest of your life. I hope it isn't a phase.
  • A lengthy expensive process of getting it removed if you regret it later on in life.

anyways we'll see. once its done, its done. if i hate it, i have to live with it. unless i get lazer treatment :S which i doubt.

There's your doubt right there. From someone who wanted two full sleeves, take your time

Have a small piece done, if you are comfortable with it, build it up over time.

Thats also a more viable way of financing it. I dread to think how much you're spunking on a full sleeve :/

4. Risk, im willing to talk 7 years on im still into body art etc.

7 years is nothing compared to how long your life is likely to be.

As for getting your whole forearm done (i presume thats what you mean), then I think u will regret it. Its a major tattoo and you are asking for confirmation from an online forum that its a good idea. You obviously arent behind it 100% so dont take the risk, if you must, get something smaller.

Get it done as its what you want. But never ever ever complain about it once you have had it done, because you will be in for a whole world of "I told you so" and regrets.

Personally I echo Gilly's comments, especially about how it can affect your future job prospects and how people perceive you. I know that a lot of people will say "it doesnt matter what other people think, as long as you are happy", but ultimately it does, especially when it is at your disadvantage.

How it is going to look, no one can say until it's done and by then its too late. You can guess by the patten and the jobs he's done before but it's never 100% identical.

As to will it ruin your job oppotunities ? I can tell you one thing, it sure won't give you an edge over the guy that doesn't have any tattoos. So at best it won't affect it, but if it does, it'll lower your chances. I am incline to believe that most employers would pick one without a full arm tattoo than one without.

Yes its your body but you are not the one looking at it.

I Got half a sleeve done last year from the top of my arm to just over my elbow. 9 1/2 hours in two sittings lots of fun so imagine how long a full sleeve will be lol :D . MY advise to you would be make sure its original mine was copied straight from a HR Giger book free hand its great and the detail is insane also very weird looks like something from the film aliens.

my mate has some tats - none of them match and looks plain wrong... He has one of a bull but the "artist" put the nuts on the belly.. :D
besides, if you don't like it you can always just wear a long sleeve shirt 24/7

Get a smaller design at first then see what you think.

I have 4 and they are all easily shown/hidden depending on my mood.

1 is also just the start of something bigger if I decide to carry on with it :) Makes sense (both logic and financial) to me.

I swear to God, you'd better not have stars in it. It's a fad, and a stupid one to follow.

As I said before, you're just living up to the stereotype of a drummer in a death-metal band getting a sleeve.

If you want it, get it.
No ones opinion should make a difference if you really want it done.

Post a picture when it's finished!
