Full Sleeve.

Not suprising, HR Geiger designed the Alien creatures. He also designed the Predator creature too.

A friend of mine is saving up for a half sleeve of HR Geiger's Trumpets of Jericho. It is an awesome piece, just a matter of finding a tattooist up to the job!

As for you neon, going for a full sleeve as your first ever tat seems a little impulsive. You have absolutely no idea how it will turn out and what it is like to live with a tattoo... jumping in the deep end first time around with something that is permanent is rash.

I think it's your call. If you want it, do it. It's not my thing, I don't like them and wouldn't have one under any circumstances, but it's your body, not mine.

And I'd say without doubt it'll affect job chances. It'll kill some completely, but if you come across another tattoo fan, it may open doors there. Either way, your call.

That and you seriously better like it, and want to live with it and other peoples opinions for the rest of your life.
 
Your opinion from 11 'til 18 isn't really the same as what your opinion's going to be in 7 years time, is it? I mean, if you need to land a day job in an office to make some money whilst progressing your music career, you're going to be building misconceptions about yourself straight away. Between 11 and 18, your attitude towards modding isn't going to change that much, as you haven't had as much real life experience - just school and college, possibly university.

Wear a long sleeve shirt n tie, no one will no any different.
Personally, if i had the stomach for it, i would definitely get a full arm tat :)
Remember: no stars, makes ou look like an emo kid ;)
 
Two of my guitarists have tattoos all over their bodies and they look bloody awful. They keep threatening to get me very drunk and give me a few tatts.

Tattoos are not just for christmas, they are for life.
 
Doesn't peoples taste in art change over time ?
Whatever I had on my wall when I was a kid is probably in the bin now
I'd think I'd get bored with a tatto after 10 years

If you are thinking of yet another celtic symbol with a wolf/indian/dragon/skull and a bunch of metaphysical kanji babble then I'd say it'll suck. (....or I would once I'd finished yawning)

I guess if it looks artistic and unique then I don't have a problem with the owner.
If it looks like green clipart, I'm going to think they are a dullard.

What is it going to look like then ?

Neon - as I've told you on MSN, get it if it is what you really want. If it's below the neck and above the wrists it can be covered and will not have any impact on your job prospects.

Unless your job demands that you are topless...

It may. For a start, some jobs have uniforms with short-sleeves. And there will be employers that will feel, rightly or wrongly, that it does not convey the impression they wish to convey to their clients, so if they find out .... :(

How big the risk is is unclear, but there is a risk it'll affect job prospects, at least for some jobs and some employers.
 
I think done rightly dude they can look real cool -

However I still think its good advice to get maybe half of it done first (closest to your shoulder) then in 6months if your comfortable with get the rest done -

I'm just had my arm finished and a large amount of it is covered from just below the elbow and up covering my shoulder, now it’s pretty noticeable ‘but’ only when I want it to be.

Doesn’t effect my job prospects in the slightest and if any employer did have an issue or have some daft policy about wearing short sleeve shirts as a rule I wouldn’t be happy working in a place like that anyway.

Nothing wrong with asking other people about their opinions on large tattoos but if you are asking to help make your own mind up then I’d recommend holding off for a while.
 
Hideous fad, ride it out & I'm sure you'll be glad you did eventually.
If you do go for it, make sure you post a picture of your arm (important that it's your arm mind) else no-one will believe you:)

I think a small tattoo one here and there is maybe OK if the design means something to you but the bigger the tattoo the worse it will look later in life IMO.

I say go for it, I quite like the look of sleeves when they're done right and I don't think "new skool" tattoos carry the same negative connotations as the old indian ink ones.

I'm getting a tatoo along my left inside forearm from elbow joint to wrist of 3 eastern characters for Love, Virtue and Wealth because they mean well and look nice.

Do you have any pics of the design?
