Just having a discussion with a friend about the title really. I've always thought that with TPFT you don't get NCB?? But with fully comp you do.
Someone want to shed some light on to this? :)

Cheers

Both TPF&T and FC insurance will accrue no claims bonus as long as you don't claim on your insurance. This should then bring your premiums down as you build your history up.

 You have a scooby? I would have thought you would have know something as simple as that, oh well. Suppose you wouldn't have to worry about TP insurance because anyone would crash a scooby after a while!

o ok my bad! Because I kinda originally took out fully comp on the scooby... so it would get progressively cheaper over time haha! But then again I don't think you can do the rapid acceleration bonus things on TPFT can you ? :o

He has the normal 2.0 NA one.

Ok, A little while back I bumped into the back of someone. Was pulling off a roundabout. He was sat way left of the lane in front of me, appeared to pull out, I looked right, saw nothing coming, let the clutch out and instantly hit the car in front. Didn't even touch the throttle.

No damages was done to my car, but he claimed on his insurance for his broken bumper and my insruance company paid for the work. Will this affect my no claims? Essentially I didn't claim for damages to my vehicle, but I admitted fault with my insurance company as there would have been no other way to get out of it, although I swear he pulled out and rolled back again as he was on the damned phone. I did have 3 years no claims, be nasty to lose that :(

I haven't had any letters etc telling me I've had my no claims adjusted or that they're charging me more (I pay monthly).

didnt you have to pay an excess??

Why would he pay an excess when he didn't claim for his car? Now maybe I'm wrong here, but you dont pay excess unless you claim for damage to your own vehicle?

O ok, I was under the impression that you've done something wrong... hence there's an excess there. When the guy went into the back of my car, he said he wasn't fixing his car, but was still paying his £200odd something excess...?

They've claimed on your insurance, so you'll lose your no claims. I think.

You are correct.

You do NOT pay an excess if a third party claims on your insurance.

You only pay an excess on a TPFT policy if:

You claim for theft
You claim for fire damage

In most cases, you do not PAY an excess, the amount is simply deducted from the settlement figure.
