Funky Cufflinks

I cant believe the price of them sharks. They look liek something you could get for £19.99 from QVC.

They're beautifully made and apparently exceptionally difficult to construct from cast gold.

I never wear them as I think pretty much all cufflinks are a little gaudy.

As a great example of workmanship and as a collectible of sorts, they are lovely but shall stay well away from my wrist.

What is the purpose of a cufflink? Is it purely a fashion thing?

I think apart from formal occasions, I've never worn any. I certainly don't own any but I'm thinking maybe I should judging by this thread :p

I've never previously bothered, but I've recently moved jobs and regularly find myself in situations where my previous rolled up shirt sleeve and scuffed shoes look doesn't cut it. I'm in a small team of 5 consultants, and am the only one that doesn't currently wear double cuff shirts and cufflinks most days (when were on client site).

So I've started buying some decent shirts with double cuffs and hence the need for cufflinks.

Even Harvey Specter wouldn't have those Shark ones! They look like they're made out of paper mache then coloured in silver with one of these:

Had to Google :(

I agree that they're not the classiest looking things but compared to other "novelty cufflinks" they're not so bad.

The cast finish is meant to look rough and matte.

I must reiterate though, I do not wear them!

As I've said, I find cufflinks very gaudy. A simple barrel cuff is a lot more effective in most situations apart from the most formal.

Simple is also good! I got these (mystery box gift on every seat) at a wedding where the B&G gave a little gift to everyone attending.

The computer mouse ones get the most wear though, being at work and all :D

My most worn cufflinks are a gift from b&g actually :)

Was a best man once and given some lovely silver bar links which had the date engraved on the reverse.

I like these, but can't seem to find a UK seller :(

I'd carry cake around with me to give to anyone who recognised what they are :p
