Reminds me of Ultimate Street Car back in the day - too commercial now.

Yup, that's me on the strip in 2001 two months after the first Fast and the Furious released - I've grown up with the franchise - and Brian.

Great film, for me it wasn't quite as good as the last two but still excellent. I think it could maybe have been cut a little more to tighten it up, but really didn't mind, thoroughly enjoyable and a fitting tribute to Paul Walker.

3 more are confirmed *sigh*...this would be a fitting end.

Th was always the case though, before Pauls death their was always planned sequels, Vin let it slip that Kurts character " Mr Nobody" was really brought into the 7th one as the 8th he would have more of a role as it would be set in New York.

If you have the beginning, the end, and sleep through the rest of the film, it's really a great film and fitting tribute. As much as I love Jason and how he was a villa that was actually clever, ie bringing guns it reinforcing cars, wasn't enough of him or the rock. And want enough to turn around the madhouse that was everything but the beginning women and cars, and the emotionally brilliant ending

I went with the missus to see this today. We went to the Showcase De Lux in the Westfield/Intu In derby. We decided to see it on the XPLUS screen with Dolby Atmos.

Cost a few quid more each but considering we don't go to the cinema often we thought we would treat ourselves.

What a treat it was......

First. The Screen and sound. Top stuff. The quality of the sound was astonishing. So much power and crystal clear dialogue. It never let up. We were totally surrounded by sound and it really did feel we were in the middle of the action. The screen quality was very good. Clear and pin sharp.

Second. The film.

Being big fan of the franchise I was gutted about the untimely death of Paul and his friend. How they carry on the movie series will require some good decisions regarding casting. I hope they bring in the geezer from Tokyo Drift, I really liked that film and also his character. He had a small part in FF7 but I felt it was a teaser for the proposed upcoming movies all being well.

Jason Statham

Jason played, to me anyway, a very good part. Nearly Terminator style, relentless killing machine. Really enjoyed his character. The usuals played their parts well as normal, not Oscar worthy but just right for the film they were in.

The action was non-stop. In your face and very good. The set pieces were out of this world and totally over the top. That's what makes these films (recent ones) so much fun. Effects, very good and well thought out.

Brian/Paul.

Knowing they used his brothers in the making of the film and also some scenes from other films I found it hard to spot where they did. I really only noticed one scene and it was Brian and Dom talking in a slightly darkened room. They used some audio from another FF movie iirc. What the film makers did was very good and respectful.

Ending.

Shed a tear or two and had a snotty nose. I get feels for movies. Don't ask me about Armageddon.....

Very nicely done on the beach and the race after where they split up. Great dialogue too. Nice tribute to Paul himself aswell.

Over all a fantastic film. One of the better ones of the franchise. I shall look forward to some more.

I am in Derby, i didnt know there was a special screen at the deluxe, makes me wanna try it out. Is it bigger than the usual screens or is it just about the sound etc?

I saw this film already and i enjoyed it, though the stunts and such are getting a bit ridiculous now. I have enjoyed all of these bar tokyo drift but i really dont get all the rubbish about how emotional the ending was. Its just an ending, and though it was certainly tragic what happened to paul walker i dont really get the emotional connection with the film.

I dont mind admitting i cried when i watched armageddon, so i am not trying to sound all tough about it, its just that that was a really sad ending, this had a happy ending so erm yeah...not sure.

The screen in Derby is wall to wall and floor to ceiling. Pretty big. Screen no 7. During the trailers the screen wasn't full width. The film was though.

I also noted the screen was curved. Never seen a curved screen before apart from the new fangled UDTVs that are doing the rounds at the moment.

They always said there would be more. Fast 7 made $1bn in 17 days, why the heck wouldn't they! Feels a bit too soon to announce though..
