Porsche designers must rate pretty highly in the amount paid>work done scale.

The NEW 911...Er...We changed the lights back to how they were..and...er...

*n

indeed, you would be suprised how much has changed under the exterior, over 30 years of constant development make the later day 911 the most advanced and capable sports cars to date.

and one of the best to hold their value.

In this whole thread no one has even mention the Ferrari Enzo.

Its fits into most categories of being a classic and they way people are destroying them there wont be that many left after 15 years

down to personal taste, but looks are not their best ability, its the way they GRIP.

and corner, not to mention go! and reliability.. .. .. .. .. .. and the newer cars are actually cheap to run in comparrison to say a evo . . . . . and the entry model would blow an entry evo in a straight line.. .. .. ..

Was that aimed at me?

I wasn't comparing Evos and Enzos. I don't know why you are :/

Whats an entry-level Enzo?

errrrr.... also I was talking about 911's not the ugly enzo, I agree about the enzo btw, there is a white one in japan that looks quite cool (the only one to leave the factory in white apparently) but its still ugly.

Who got touchy?
Ooooooo look at you :p :D

Edit, actually to put something constructive into this thread instead of trying to crush it with my meglomaniac old skool tendencies there have been a few design icons that have crept into the auto world. Audi TT was a celebrated new shape in the design world when it was released and I reckon when everyone has finished having enough of it the shape will probably go down as a classic.

I guess as much as everyone hates the new Beetle the same will go for that and all the other of the new throwbacks like the new Mustang and Camaro. They'll probably be celebrated for a different reason though.

PT Cruiser was based on this:

1937 Ford so how did they manage to make it so much less pretty?

Criteria for classic status is a combination of one or many of the following
  • Be an exotic marque/prestige badge
  • Have motorsport pedigree
  • Be rare (Exclusivity)
  • Have been desirable when new
  • Have cultural significance
  • Have design or engineering significance
  • Have driving appeal
  • Be worth investing time and money in

Pretty much describes the RX7 FD.
