And would need to know more accurately what kinds of life times you're expecting from what parts.
For example good monitor is usually one part holding its usage value well.
Maybe CES in next week finally brings release of monitor, which would be clear update from current 8 years old Dell U3014 without downgrades in anything.
Acer should be bringing out FALD monitor into reasonable price range with newer panel of AU Optronics.
Which, hopefully has modern response times and isn't spoiled by insane brightness.
