FX-53 or not ?

why is everyone goin mental ? yes indeed £40 is dirt cheap for an A64, but remember (im assuming anyways) it will be a 0.13 micron, and run hot, someone has already said its 1.5v default. A fair price for it is about £60, a 3200+ venice clocked at 2.8ghz (which is easier to get to on 0.9micron) would wupp its ass

Running the FX-53 at full load on my Thermalright Si-120 it goes upto 41c, on the stock cooler it would run upto about 60c, so if you got a decent cooler nothing to worry about, plus you can just up the multi without having to overclock the ram etc. Also the 3200 has only 512k cache where as the AMD 4000 or FX-53 has 1mb Cache which is like having an extra 100mhz right??

If I was buying now, I woudnt bother with the FX-53 I would just buy the AMD 4000 which runs on 0.9 micron.

What is the actual "value" of this chip? seeing as it is quite old an all...?

i agree with Durzel poor slenpree !

not going to bid on that particaulr fx53 - a mate of mine has offered me his, but he wants me to offer him a price and i dont know what a fair price for the both of us would be?
