fx62 on offer making me think

The fx62 is at a great price at the moment and its making me think of getting it.
What i want to know is:
1.For the price of £563.94 would the performance in games be huge
2.Is there going to be a big difference from my 3700 [email protected] to the fx62.
3. I never multitask but do games actually use the 2 cores.

EDIT: Though looking at your spec, I'm not sure where...
Buy a decent set of speakers or a TV or something.

i guess your talking about conroe that does sound cool but i was gonna try and hold on to the second lot of conroes are out.....for some reason

E6700 (nowhere near £600, but will walk all over the £600 FX60) or the x6800 which will be pretty damn expensive...

The E6700 (2.66Ghz) is priced at $530
The X6800 (2.93Ghz) is priced at $999

It looks like the conroes will overclock well, so the E6600 will be the most popular choice and best value.

no, get the 6600, the 200mhz neally halfs the price, ya can easily clock that back up, spend that money on good ram instead

fx62 is available right now. conroe you have to wait for so its up to you if you can wait or not.

but if you are going to play the waiting game consider this, wait a little longer than conroe and brisbane will be out. wait longer and intel will have quad core.

Yea wait, its not like there is any good games to play that require massive cpu power out at the moment.

I might even hold out until crysis before going conroe 24/7

Obv im gonna buy one just to whip everyones butt at overclocking but thats just to play.

I think ill save a bit of money and get the e6600 then if its only 200mhz differece and put it towards the best ram which is................

FX Chips is for people who have more money then Sence why pay a premium when you can just buy a chip for a fraction of the price and get the same performance
