Axl's voice sounded great and the MTV performance a few months later was not a fair reflection at all so don't judge him on that.

i was really hoping this would be the case, because listening back to the MTV awards i was worried that i would be getting something like that this year!

seen them live a few times way back with the origonal line up. This new album is thought of like the second coming of christ but i think it will be average at best. the most interesting news ive heard is axl will do some shows with izzy stradlin even though they both state he isnt back in the band i dunno, also rumours of slash and axle talking things out...who knows in this period when many bands are reforming.

/me hopes for Stone temple pilots

That could tie in with rumours that there is friction in Velvet Revolver, Slash is dragging his heels a bit apparently.

Saw G'N'R back in either 91 or 92 at Slane Castle, great day out it was, unfortunately the decay had already begun at that stage, no izzy or steve - can't understand why Axl insists in keeping up the name.

There was an article in Total Guitar, I think, about their new album. I wasn't really too interested tbh, I'm not a fan (not yet anyway) and don't really care, but it tentatively suggested that the album might finally make an appearance soon (though did point out that has been announced several times and had never appeared, so who knows?).

Saw Axl's rendition of them at the Leeds festival in 2002 and they were pretty good although about 1hr late!

Buckethead was cool but not a patch on Slash!

AFD and both Use Your Illusion albums are classics for me and are what got me into playing the guitar etc.

I have hopes for the Chinese Democracy album but I can't help but be pessimistic :(

OMG OMG another Bangor man!! ;)

In all the videos I've seen, Buckethead is playing rhythm guitar, so no, not a patch on slash  Its the Nine inch Nails bloke who does the leads, and he's alright.

he's just a different sound to slash. slash flowed really well note to note, buckethead's music and playing is a lot more disjointed for the most part which i love!

Your probably right about that, they're both great guitarists and bucketheads nunchuks bit was cool as was the starwars theme tune bit what he did :)

Still I love Slash's soloing style and especially when he stands at the corner of the stage looking like a 'monument to rock' with his guitar vertical. :p

have you seen him do his nunchaku kata & guitar solo at the same time?

and chronos, you obviously havent seen the 2002mtv awards paradise city, buckethead does the solos in that ;)
